Yeah, Deshi means countrymen. While we generally use it for people from same district/region. I guess for expatriates, it means fellow Bangladeshis.
It’s the desh videsh concept…

@Bekloppt … get your wife some hilsa … While it’s thorny… And I don’t want to remove the t in thorny but that’s what every bong becomes … Mostly… Again generalizing
I doubt he will get decent Hilsha in Germany. Do you have good ones there?
We get the godavari river equivalent of hilsa. More expensive but personally I don’t really care for the fish anyway.
She is a rare Bong who hates fish curry. Childhood traumas etc. Too many fishbones and insistent aunties I guess.
I had a customer from Gujarat, specifically Surat. He turned up for our meetings with the most amount of gold I ever seen on a person . He showed me his house in Surat and its no exaggeration, he had solid gold tables, chairs, chandeliers…
Should have reported him to the tax authorities. But Surat is a hub for diamonds and jewellery.
As much as this bloke?
All 15kg or more of them.
That’s me at mangoes.
GHMC FOOD STREET
This is something which has come up off late. I am hearing great things about here. Basically a drive in but one which is being operated by the GHMC.
Interesting… Let me try when I am on work trip at Chennai and then to Bangalore for next 2 months. Thanks for sharing
I won’t be going there during the rains for sure… But the menu seems promising.
For anyone with an FT subscription, there’s a very interesting interview with Modi in today’s paper.
I thought our Indian friends might be interested in this article:
People are aware. There’s no great grassroot enthusiasm for Modi. I never brought into his hype but quite a lot of people arent supporting him as much as they did last time around.
He’ll still get into power though.
Moitra and TMC are a different breed of scums though.
One more day till the polling concludes.
