Ligue Un discussion

Not aimed at any one person in particular but just the previous comments.

Are there going to be egos? Yes there are, it happens at every club, including ours when we had the issue with Mo and Mane a while back and Mo wasn’t passing enough to Mane (in manes opinion).

It happens, these players are world class and part of the thing that makes them world class is their abaility to put team before self - which I am sure they’ll do.

What will be interesting is how will Poch deal with it.

Strong case for Messi coming in and being on FK and penalties… how will Neymar feel about that… Mbappe?

A good manager would find a way around it. We’ll see, but each has a strong case for being the main man.

If you are into diving instead of football you will have a great time with every match they play. Have fun.

Sure, the issue here though is that we are talking about players with outsized ego’s. Mo not passing to Mane because he backed himself to score when Mane thought he was better placed is a fairly common issue amongst forwards, and understandable. However, they didn’t go public about any spats, nor do they try to divide the dressing room or influence transfers which is what those players at PSG have done.

Again, where is the evidence that the ego of Neymar or Messi has ever effected them on the pitch…or even their relationship off it. There’s a pretty good argument that it takes the ego of Neymar to be an effective foil for someone who casts a shadow as big as Messi does, which is, along with their ungodly talents, is why they were such an effective partnership for as long as they were.

As for Mbappe, what has he ever said? From what I can tell, the only thing he’s ever gone public with was the need for team mates not to publicly criticise each other after Giroud complained about his lack of service. He’s a target for unfounded accusations of ego simply because he’s young, excellent, and a goal scorer, and that seems to color anything he says or is used as a reason for a bad game. Example, a couple of season ago PSG got thrashed in a league game and Mbappe criticised the application of the players, using language that made it clear he was including himself in the criticism. The press picked that up as Mbappe criticises team mates.

Edit.

Look what PSG have accumulated. They have perhaps the best front line that has ever existed in Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, but who here is pressing? It puts a curious pressure on the rest of the structure

Oh dear … Gini! :man_facepalming:

How in hell is Messi goig to PSG the ultimate problem.
The problem in football is ultimately idiots writing nonsense imo

Lol at this thread on twitter!

Ander Herrera being one of them… They want him back at Old Toilet apparently.!

He suits them so well to be fair.

Annoying smug looking guy.

Utd or PSG?

Well both but I did mean Man Utd.

Not sure why they are signing another MF though.

There’s lots of questions over PSG’s finances, which is fair, however what gets me is that noone ever bothers with Monaco. If there’s a team that breaks fair play in France it’s them!

Really! I thought they are sort of sell-to-buy club. I know they were bankrolled by some Russian billionaire initially, but I thought all that changed when he divorced and lost half his fortunes.

They only have 3000 supporters!
If he who bank rolled them now no longer does so where does their money come from? (He’s still the owner and president).

They have sold players worth a lot too

2017/18: Mendy, Silva, Bakayoko, Carrillo; that’s 150mil
2018/19: Mbappe, Lemar, Fabinho, Kongolo, Ghezzal, Meite; that’s 280mil
2019/20: Tielemens, Lopes; another 64mil

FFP has proved to be a shadow tiger; PSG has simply to replicate man cheaty’s workaround methods in order to piss all over it.
