Liverpool Coaching Staff

Go on then, we’ve got a whole summer to fill and it’ll be more fun than moaning about transfer targets.
Tell us about a time when you overcame a challenge at work.

Not sure if anyone has previously posted this interview with Dr. Ian Graham, but it’s a nice listen:

@dalglish. Thanks. This is very interesting insight in the behind the scenes work of the data analysis by the sports science team who help Jürgen build a successful team.

You’re out!

Seriously, I fear a bit for Ajax. They have obviously decided that they want to perform the dark arts… let’s see how it goes for them.

No idea what his role was with us, but I notice that his long-standing relationship with Everton hasn’t disturbed many on here. He went under my radar, I didn’t even know that he was at the club. Just noticed his presence on the bench during our last game of the season. :see_no_evil_monkey:

He was a relatively late addition to the staff and seemingly only pursued when some of Slot’s first choice’s didn’t pan out. But by all accounts he has been received very positively. For old school fans there is a little bit of the dynamic of him being the Ronnie Moran to Slot’s Paisley.

He’ll be missed, but this, having to find replacements for promising eager coaches, is part of football at this level.

I do think he took the job because there were no first team managerial opportunities he was interested in.

He was always going to be leaving.

Went to the Halfway House a few hours after the game.

My guys were on the terrace (Jamie Webster was a table next to us), I went inside on my own to just explore a bit.

Who do I recognize at the bar?

Lee Nobes (Head of Rehab Physiotherapy) and Jonathan Power (Director of Medicine and Performance)!

Came up to them, shook their hands, told them thank you for the good work this season, that we’re proud of the whole team and happy that we didn’t have much injuries this season!

Paid for their round and they were quickly gone. Tried to keep it lowkey.

At the parade, I did the same run/sprint alongside the buses from the Strand all the way to the end as in 2022.

The players’ bus was gone, but then the one with coaching staff and other members stopped to make a turn right into the docks.

Was in front of the bus and I saw Jonathan at the front, he recognized me. I had an unopened can of beer (thanks to a fan who just passed me one while we were running!) and offered to throw it to him, but he was waving with his hands like “no, no!”.

One of the best moments of a great couple of days in Liverpool.

Romano:

Ajax have agreed deal to appoint John Heitinga as new head coach on two year contract. Exclusive story confirmed as Liverpool gave their green light earlier this week and Heitinga will go back to Ajax.

Hope they make the right decision, can be someone I’ve never heard of, which is exactly how some of the best coaching staff moves happened.
