How teams might still be able to cut through us in midfield is definitely something to keep an eye on. I would have thought that with additional coaching Iraola will have the midfield unit getting tighter.

It remains to be seen if we have the right balance in the midfield personnel without a signing.

They never dominated us even with Guardiola.

We won 1 league title and the won the rest in the time Pep and Klopp were both in situ. They totally dominated, as sad as that is. Not sure denying facts is healthy no matter how much you want something else to be true. Are your political views firmly left wing by any chance?:rofl::rofl:

I don’t know why you want to exclude the head-to-head record and take into account only the PLs won. It’s not as if City was competing exclusively against Liverpool and not against 18 other teams as well. Even still, 2 of these titles were stolen from us by the PGMOL and awarded to City.

If you want to call that domination, be my guest; just don’t expect others to agree with you.

Because trophies are the thing that really matters. We beat Man Cheaty a few times and you think that means they didn’t dominate us by winning 6 leagues or whatever it is, to our 1 under Klopp!
They totally dominated the premier league for years under Pep just like Manure under old Whiskey nose.

But you say they didn’t :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I think the point is that, yes they dominated the league, but no they didn’t dominate Liverpool specifically. Two different things.

It’s obvious from my post what I meant. Maybe some people are not the sharpest, but still.

If you remove all context and reason, you are right. Good for you.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: if you can’t deduce from my post what I was talking about (ie, very obviously not head to head matches) then I guess there’s little hope of a proper conversation. Sometimes I’m not sure if some people are a bit thick or just enjoy trying to look for an angle to wind someone up.

They benefited from a good dollop of help from refs to beat us to the title.

Bold strategy from a lad who has been banned twice already and is now on his third account. Let’s see if it pays off for him.

Political views left wing??
Why is that pertinent to any conversation concerning City and Liverpool.

Strategy?? No, it’s not that important mate.:rofl:

Denying facts to try and make reality match what you want to be true is a common trait of the left. Just a comparison for illustrative purposes.

A comment which neatly sums up your understanding of football, and of politics.

Which amounts to fuck all.

Your argument with @RedArmada is case in point. You blithely ignored the extenuating factors, which he referred to. Hence, the question of City dominance is flawed. Taking outstanding charges into account mitigated against any notion of ā€œfairā€ dominance. I imagine that colours most discussions on City’s place in the echelons of greatness

Your assertion regarding denial of facts being a common trait of the left is again, flawed. Your use of this misconception for illustrative purposes is therefore, useless. That very allegation is from the Trump/Farage playbook…fed to people to demonise questioning. But there is a debate in the politics thread that can show you that both positions can have merit. For illustrative purposes

Fair enough on the politics, I’ll leave that out of here. Maybe I’ll go over to the political thread for a good laugh.
But City totally dominated and saying they didn’t because we won 1 more head to head match in the time period is ridiculous. 5 leagues to our 1 in 6 years is total domination.
Do I like it, of course not, do they deserve it, of course not. But it’s just facts.

The argument of their dominance is flawed due to outstanding charges. If they are found guilty in any way, doubtful as that might be…then we can say they are in the same arena as Ben Johnson and Lance Armstrong. Cheats.
Until they are cleared, that ā€œdominanceā€ can rightly be questioned
