Thought Koumas looked sharp again.
Yeah, he barely played last season.
This is the same reason why I would like our club to buy Djed Spence and offload Tsimikas, who also barely played last season. Spence will walk into our starting 11 at the RB position at least during the 1st half of the upcoming season as Bradley is still injured and Frimpong frankly sucks in a back 4 system. At the same time he can also be Kerkezās backup on the left wing.
Well we agreed a deal with Villa, where a commitment to a transfer was based on him playing a number of premier league games. At the same time Villa had a similar player in Buendia returning from a season on loan.
It appears he accepted the situation professionally. Also when he broke his leg, he instantly made a statement removing any blame on the other player and I believe he actually gave a young kid, a fellow patient his boots from the game.
He literally went from being named Player of the Tournament in the U21ās Euro to sitting on the sofa all season because of us and Villa.
He probably wonāt be welcomed back at Fulham, but a Club of similar stature is what he needs.
I will be honest, I know Spence had a respectable season and the WC boosted his profile/value but I just dont see him as an option or a necessity.
I personally canāt justify spending Ā£40m of our budget on someone who is going to fight for game time with the Ā£80m worth of Full backs we invested in last season. I would rather give Ramsay the game time on the right hand side.
I am beginning to believe Frimpong was almost used as bait to sign Wirtz, and was a relatively cheap replacement for Trent.
To be honest, with Spence we can offload both Tsimikas and Frimpong. And since Spence can play on both wings, £40m spent on him will be like £80m last season. So after buying Spence and selling Frimpong & Tsimikas, we will have Kerkez, Spence, Bradley, Ramsey and one of the Chambers/Scanlon duo for full-backs.
Iām not on board as I donāt rate him high enough for the whole rigmarole. However, I also canāt disagree with your logic in theory ![]()
Really disappointing game. Iām actually surprised by how negative my reaction was because Iām not normally that guy.
Off the ball the difference to last year was start and that was good to see. In terms of personnel, Trey was an absolute delight in the 6. Heās so confident i how limited a space he needs to still feel comfortable demanding the ball and composed and good enough that he never lost it. But he was more than just a safe outlet, 3 different times he suddenly upped the tempo and started us on a dangerous break forward showing he isnāt just a āhide between the CBs and pass it sideways guy.
There honestly wasnāt much more to say positively about it unfortunately. Shit pitch, no fans, dead atmosphere and it got the performance it deserved. There were too many players who are a mile off this level and it showed in terms of how difficult that made it for the senior guys. But there are real concerns with Harvey. He looks a shadow of himself. At times he looked decidedly Sunday league with how bad his control was. Itās possible Iraola worked them so hard that he expected a heavy legged performance full of dodgy touches. But if not thatās a performance that is going to ring alarm bells
His Mom is a friend of my GFās mate. I have gone from subtly encouraging her to be more friendly (with Treyās Mom) to actively demanding she does something about it and get me Tickets ![]()
.
He is very talented, and as you say very comfortable/confident in his game. Someone like Sweeting will know more, but he seems to be played in a number of positions for Club/Country. I just hope this is a proactive part of his career path and not a victim of being played in numerous position because he can do a job.
Harveyās career as a top 6 club footballer seems doneā¦Emery fucked his entire career up. Hughes is to be blamed as well for not organising a better exit for him and us after that stellar U21 performance at the cup and added that naive 10 games clause in the loan dealā¦
For me he didnāt do anything that overly frustrated me and that wasnāt evident with other players. I actually felt, him and Koumas were fighting a losing battle and that the service into them was often in the defenders favour.
That being said, unless Iraola has a definitive plan for him it is best for both parties that he moves on.
I wouldnāt blame Emery, who was under obligation not to play him and also without knowing the ins and out, we have to assume the agreement was done in good faith.
What ever the case, the person to suffer most was Harvey.
He seems a determined lad and despite a dodgy barnet a good head on him. I wouldnāt right him off, I just think he needs a club where he is a regular starter, playing in a regular position.
Elliott is a very interesting player. He is built like Messi but without that trickery, superb close control, and that mad burst of acceleration to be a false 9 or CAM in the top 6 PL teams.
As a RW, he got neither the strong upper body strength nor blistering pace nor trickery to be one in the top 6 PL team.
He would do better in midtable PL teams, Serie A, Ligue 1ā¦

I hate these preseason tours. Playing on shit pitches on the other side of the world .
I remember when i was a kid unless you went you never knew the preseason results until you got the first h9me programme of the season and it gave you the results in the back. Take me back to those days. Just play games in the uk against local teams.
Didnt watch the game but saw clips on twitter. Looked shit game as players seem shattered.
2 thingsā¦concerning our new CB hanst featured yet and Rioā¦those fucking step overs.

Also seen this a lot on twitter about Jones.
They say his attitude is off and it looks like he has mentally checked out.
Here is moaning at Sozbo and they said it happened all game
Why is all the talk of Ndukwe having to go on loan to a clun in Europe?
Why canāt we list him on the ESC list like we have done with Ndiaye or loan him to a low ranked Premoer League team with a massive financial incentive to play him?
Played in a ballpark in front of a baseball audience who were more interested in their burgers.
Stop going to the US.
Something about points needed to qualify for it I think I heard. Not sure how it works
We lost all but one ESC spot (which is going to Ndiaye) because of Slotās refusal to use homegrown players last season, apparently.
And yet we refused to bolster our homegrown ranks, while all of our rivals are doing exactly that, even when players like Konsa and Spence are not too pricey.
Ah, I didnāt know we had lost all bar the 1 given to Ndiaye.
But why donāt we find a loan witrhin the Premier League to get his pounts up? Offer him to Coventry, Hull and Ipswich with no loan fee, split the wage to insitivise them to play him more, with a bonus paid on him hitting an agreed number of games/minutes?
Something along the lines of:
0-10 games - LFC pay 20% of wage
11-20 games - 50/50
+21 games - LFC pay 100% of wage
25 games - LFC pay £1M bonus
30 games - LFC pay a further £1.5M
- Provision being that it needs a minimum of 15 minutes to count6 as a game
