Jacquet not part of team training again today. We are in a very bad situation at defense right now. The only fit senior CB we have is 35 and hasnt had a day of training with the side. The next guy is an academy kid who doesnt even have a work permit.

While Gravenberch, Isak and Wirtz will be included in the squad, Iraola confirmed a decision is still to be made on whether Jeremy Jacquet will be involved.
The summer arrival did not participate in the friendlies with Sunderland and Wrexham after reporting some âdiscomfortâ in training.
âWith Jeremy we still donât know if itâs worth it or not to put him in against Leeds,â explained the head coach.
âHe did the first part of the pre-season, letâs say, very well. Now heâs feeling some discomfort, so we donât want to rush him.
âHe comes from a lot of months without playing. And obviously I would like to try with him with Virgil [van Dijk] when he recovers, because with the injury of Joe [Gomez] weâve been without senior centre-backs. But we have to be careful with Jeremy, yes.â

This is now 3 years in a row that we have treated that part of the pitch lackadaically and we carry on and by the time we try and do something concrete about the situation, the season has started and the window is nearly closed. I am even more puzzled that we have bought young potential replacements but one is injured before he even kicked a ball and the other even though he is good but we canât use him this year as we cannot get a work permit for him to play for us.
Unbelievably poor that we have let it get to this point
