You would take him I won’t for 70m. No problem.
Shocking development as 6"3’ Former England international striker is better than two 18 year old CBs with 1 professional appearance between them

Maybe so, but Calvert-Lewin was playing in a pair of his high heels.
Makes him even harder to deal with on high balls to the back post
Jones and Gravenbergh. Out for a jog, with no idea what’s going on behind them.
That’s when I switched on. It rather went downhill from there. My wife says that I am a bleeding jinx.
Seriously, you’re right. Jones was marking the man at the near post and didn;t even leave the ground for the long throw for DCL’s first. Then he was ‘marking’ DCL for the fourth from a long throw and again didn;t even get off the ground. If you add in his lovely assist to Longstaff it was a wonderful attacking performance by Jones, for the wrong side.
The other observation that needs stating is that once again, like last season, we looked ‘soft’. Not just physicality but also aggression and bravery.
Every single part of that was painful. Even the young CB charging out of position but I understand why he did, with his midfield not bothering to get involved.
Actually our other CB was well positiioned with Calvert Lewin at least.
Another thing I genuinely don’t understand in modern coaching is this nonsense about matching the smallest guy against the opposition’s biggest guy during crosses from set pieces. It’s bollocks. We knew Leeds like a long throw into the box so who did we have matched up with their hulking midfielder at the near post? Yes, it was Jones and Chambers. Surely you park the likes of Ndukwe in front of the guy Leeds are aiming for to block the throw? When they had corners in the first half it was infuriating to see Ndukwe matching up with small players near the top of the box when it was obvious the corner was going to be pinged into the six yard box where we were waiting with a gaggle of midgets. Bonkers stuff.
I went to the Leeds friendly. 90/10 pro Liverpool crowd (based on the amount of Red I saw), but you wouldn’t have been able to tell if you just listened whose supporters were loudest. That small Leeds contingent was very loud, and credit to them.
That first half was lovely. Leeds couldn’t really get out of their own half for the bulk of it. Nyoni continues to impress and I’d rather they keep him rather than loan him out. Szobo was all over the place, per usual. Wirtz looked happy to be out there, pouncing on that volley from Frimpong. Isak wasn’t quite getting into favorable positions, but he helped create that first goal.
The second half was a polar opposite. I’m sure it didn’t help that Leeds took an extra 15 minutes to reenter the pitch. Liverpool was ready to go and standing there, waiting, as Leeds remained in the dressing room. Bizarre.
But then Leeds put out a strong second half team, and Calvert-Lewin, especially, just tortured poor Ndukwe. Frimpong asks to be subbed off (ugh), our back line was so poor, Gravenberch and Jones were napping. Elliott was a non-factor, Georgi didn’t cover himself in glory, and the attack was basically stuck helping to defend. That was absolutely brutal.
Not a great way to experience the end of my first ever trip to see them play in person, but that first half was joy enough.
I preferred when you would find out the result in the paper the next day… and that was the 90s
I will say this - our wingers and midfielders really need to learn how to play with strikers. So often, I saw Isak on the back shoulder of a defender waiting to pounce on a through ball, but the pass wouldn’t come. They need to take advantage of that situation.
He is a talented player but he is still to reach maturity, it didn’t help that he was nominated captain by his country for his football prowess not his personality. Interpersonal skill are only developed late 20s. As others have said I think the only ones to get the vice captaincy is Alisson.
Yes I remember Macca being paired with the Newcastle giant CH but in this case Calvert-Lewin is not the tallest but I have seen him out jump both Konate and VVD.
Im still worried isak will be a massive flop.
And his handbag was weighing him down…
Edit, calvert-lewis is shite and no amount of ‘ahem’ dressing it up will make him look better…
Can always count on you to sparkle a bit of positivity to life when it’s much needed Walshy.
