Liverpool FC - Pre-season

Jeezus.

Can we not keep him just for the Bitters game - I would love to see him spend 60 minutes slapping Pickford from pillar to post

Looks like they being chased by a giant.

If I recall correctly, I think I read at some point last season that he was actually a very Firmino-style player, constantly harassing and pressing, but I’m not too sure.

Every time I see him play he looks like he is going on the same trajectory as Michael Owen?

Can you imagine Taiwo konate and Matip going in for a corner he wont even be able to see anybody let alone the ball!

Seems like a rather grounded guy.

Very different style of player but in terms of developing well ahead of his age then I would agree that he is well above what you would expect from a 16 year old. This season should obviously give us a lot more insight into his likely development path but hopefully he will another like Sterling or Alexander-Arnold who essentially jump straight from the U18s into the first team (not as a regular player but in terms of training daily and not being with the U23 group as often).

He really is a monster, makes Phillips look weedy and he aint!

Phillips isn’t big either but he’s as hard as nails. I bet KonatĂ© is as soft as my pillow in comparison!

He’s listed as 6’ 3" (191cm), so I guess that does put a measure on how tall Awoniyi is

A bit taller than me then, certainly not short.
My intention was to comment on bulk though knowing heights is worth while as well. Thanks.
(I am sure I am broader than Nat but nowhere near as hard.)

I saw a picture of Alisson’s wife getting vaccinated already a while ago on social media. She won’t be the only one imo, they’re just keeping it private I think.

If you are talking about Kanoté everywhere I look he is listed as 1.94 meters.

I was referring directly to that particular photo, so it was Phillips, although that said in the initial photo I saw of Awoniyi in the training camp he looked taller than Konaté, so that lines up I guess

Wouldn’t mind seeing Taiwo play a game. Last season when we were whipping in hopeless crosses at times, would have been useful to have him on the end of them rather than Bobby at his height. I wonder is he the new backup for Bobby if we are not going to go for an attacker like thought. Especially if FSG aren’t going to give Klopp the money.

Watching those “inside training” videos I get the impression that KanotĂ© does not know what hit him according to the intensity of the training sessions. :sunglasses:

You’ll get used to it lad. :+1:

Yeah as said got his work permit for the UK. Can play for us with no issues. Doubled his value anyways for us if we want to sell anyways with that.
