I wonder if the current political climate in America has had any bearing on pre-season location? I’ve enjoyed watching Liverpool with my lad a few times on pre-season here in the States - usually a fringe sort of team, but still, it’s been something. It will be interesting to see the future direction pre-season takes.

I suppose there are dual imperatives that both need to be satisfied. Fitness, training, togetherness. Plus showing your face in commercial hubs to keep and grow the global fan base. We do really well in the Far East, and America has become an increasingly important market, especially with the TV deal here.

One to watch.

We were there last summer so I think it’s just a natural rotation, not go to one place two summers in a row.

I hope we have a good pre-season, there’s an opportunity for us to take full advantage of. Summer free of WC/EC, no CWC for us either.

Hopefully with a league title in the bag to also defend it next season with all we have.

Yeah we tend to rotate.

Players should all return at the same date this summer, right?

Yes.

Well apart from Musiala, Isak and Stiller, who’ll be returning September 1st.

Damn, looks like the players will not get a good break.

July 8th is the first day for players to report back. I think the last internationals are done by the 9th of June so it’s going to pretty much a full month. That isnt that bad and most of the guys are going to continue working through that period and probably wont take more than a full week completely off

Most of our lads will be finished by the 11th when the internationals are done so will have the full month off.

Edit. The only games going past the 11th are U/21 and U/19 Euros so Quansah would be the only senior squad member to report back late (if he is picked in the U/21 squad)

We can’t really moan this summer.

No WC/EC, no CWC.

Okay we have the Eastern tour and the Charity Shield, but last summer was much more tricky to organize everything for a new head coach.

This year I’m sure they have the time needed for a really proper pre-season.

The first friendlies are often the chance for some younger players and some cases that might still be up in the air where they will be next season (like for example Bajcetic).

They had a month off in May

Still faster than Ceefax.

No, unfortunately I won’t be able to go. Yokohama is a long way from here and I wouldn’t be able to get back in time for work the next day.

Be nice to Ifti, he’s the only one we’ve got.

Ordinarily I would pull a sickie, or put the lesson on Google Classroom, but it’s an end of semester test and I have to be there.

I hope you pass. I always found it useful to write stuff on my forearms before a test so I could sneakily read the answers by rolling up my sleeves.
Good luck! :crossed_fingers:t4:

It seems you have misunderstood. I am over 60 years old. I am not a student. I’m the one standing on the podium in front of the blackboard.

Like you were, I am also an English teacher.
