Liverpool Pre- and Midseason 2022-23

Yeah, I’m disappointed with a number of players these days not using their heads to win a ball like that. Either they shy away or do an idiotic karate style move like Mane on Ederson.

Nice little game to watch. The lads are coming nearer to their competitive form as one could see. The scoreline is probably a bit harsh on Leipzig, who could easily have scored a couple themselves. But the tempo of the game, the intensity, the quality of the pressing are clearly improving, and that’s what matters most at this stage.

Good for the young Uruguayan lad to score a few, in order to show his obvious potential, calm his nerves and also to silence the twitter-idiots out there, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s just a training match where everyone involved got the chance to build up match fitness.

Now a week of probably very intense training, and then on to Salzburg. :+1:

You noticed the deliberate mistake :joy:

This is subject of discussion in the Heading the Ball thread.
If players are not confident/trained to head a ball these wild kung fu kicks commence.

At what age did Mané start heading the ball?

Yes, this is also the main reason why I like Morton so much. That, along with his decision making on the ball.

Poor Naby, Klopp right at the beginning basically giving the game away that he won’t be in the club long enough in the future for these three to ever be interviewed again together. Because it’s not Konaté who’s going to be missing the next time LFC play Leipzig, is it?
He gestures towards Naby as he says “There’ll never be such an interview ever again”
Even if it was in jest, Naby won’t relish hearing his boss make a joke out of how much money Leipzig were able to squeeze out of us for the these two.
It was a typically hilarious interview with Klopp because I never feel he really has complete control over what comes out of his mouth. Or he really does and this was a chance for him to give Naby a subtle motivational kick.

The thing that stood out for me was his movement off the ball.

Every time he had the ball and passed it, he was straight away looking to get further forawrd and to get the ball again. It was very Pass & Move

I think you might be reading a bit too much into that
