With the Community Shield this Saturday who is likely to be playing in the Friendly on Sunday? Going to that match with two of my kids, hadn’t realised the Shield was the day before. Seems a strange time to schedule a friendly but will get to go to an Anfield match so not too worried who plays as I failed to get any tickets for the first half of the season. Making a weekend of it so doing a Stadium tour on Saturday and will look around the City on the Sunday before the match.

I think they did something similar another pre-season, with a training game a day or two after the Community Shield.
Hard to say who will play, I’m guessing it’ll be those who didn’t play the day before, plus maybe some kids to make up the numbers?

Aye, Community sheild is played under league rules so limited subs, so the other game will be used to top off the pre-season conditioning for the entire team of players who dont get a run out against City

Yes, which is limited compared to how the other pre-season games have been used. That means many of the players who have participated in these pre-season games will go unused and will need another game to get those same minutes in their legs to be ready for the start of the season.

The year they played Barca at Wembley they played abroad the following day, I think a few played both but the limit on the subs will have an impact. I think Klopp is effectively using it as a pre season game so I won’t read much into it, press will.
I assume Sunday’s game is at Anfield.
