Liverpool v Newcastle United, Carabao Cup Final, Wembley, Sunday 16th March, 16:30

Tired of these fucking useless first halves, every fucking week.

“Oh but they’ll tire 2nd half”

Slightly behind him

Jota needs a tapin to get his confidence back

Huge second half coming up. Need a reaction here.

I’d move Diaz back up top and get Gakpo on the left. Take off Jota.

Newcastle deserve their lead to be fair to them.

All I’ve been wishing for the past five minutes was to get the 0-0 to HT, then Slot do whatever is needed, then come and win it in the second half. And they couldn’t hang in a couple of more minutes…not for the first time, this season.
Oof, uphill battle now.

Would Ali be able to save it???

Nice header but all alone, and look like Kelleher didn’t stretch himself fully to get to that one.

Time will tell if their celebration was a bit over-exuberant, but I get it.

We’ve seen enough from Jota to know that he is a really good player, with a role to play at the club. But we do need a better first choice.

How on earth a side like us not get a single shot, forget about on target or not, but not a single shot

That was 1 abysnal half from us.
Konate and VVd 6’6 but we let Mac Aliister maek the 8 foot Burn.
This team just look so devoid of any ideas.
We really need to improve but not sure we have it in us

Virgil and Konate protecting the middle, which is normal. Burns causing problems all set pieces from wide. Should’ve put Quansah on him.

yep, so true

I would sub both him and Jota for Nunez and Jones.

Maybe it’s because I’m used to seeing Alisson, but I think Kelleher should be doing better.

People having a go at Jota, what a load of tosh, he hasn’t had any decent balls played to him and that can be said for all our front 3, we either are too slow in build up with passes to feet or just poor long hopeful balls.

The front guys are living on scraps.

However, we are committing way too many fouls

He WAS a really good player, and that was when he was fit and sharp…which was only around 50% of a season anyway.

Time he was moved swiftly on.

PsG game killed our momentum. Had we won that game we would have been 2-0 already. We haven’t been in this kind of situation as we recovered instantly after Forest defeat. We need a rub of luck and then we will be at our best. Something needs to stick. We haven’t scored for close to 3 hours and that’s a rarity.

Agreed Diaz should have gone for goal
