Liverpool v Newcastle United, Carabao Cup Final, Wembley, Sunday 16th March, 16:30

I dont really get what Kelleher was doing on it. I’d have to see it again, but I wonder if he was slow to get moving because he was conscious of someone else getting another touch on it.

Can’t believe that we don’t have a fit 3rd choice RB…

I can’t quite decide if our players are still knackered from Tuesday or if they have been told to conserve energy. That goal is a gut punch. 0:0 at half time, and I could have seen a tweak helping. Now it is uphill.

Sick to the back teeth of the commentary, as well.

It’s not just this game though. It’s been a while since his last good game.

Forwards aren’t the issue, we’re getting beat in midfield and the forwards are getting zero service. Everything is long balls to an isolated Salah/Diaz or for Jota to compete against their centre backs.

Playing the mostly the same team is catching up with us. But we can get back on this game.

Trippier lucky not getting a card and giving a pen. 50 years ball, bouncing, getting in the wrong posit in on and almost batting the ball.

No control in midfield.

Don’t be daft. Potentially a lot of business to do this summer. We don’t need to create issues for ourselves

Kelleher was anticipating a header in the other direction, into dangerous space like a pass, so his weight was on his right foot. That adjusting step is the margin of the goal.

Fourth choice. Trent, Bradley, Gomez.

they have CL folks on… muted that shit

Really, 3rd choice? Every club is getting down to players out of position at 3rd choice for a wide position.

Straight swap for someone like Cunha and we’re laughing.

Kelleher had a lot of people in front of him. Mac Allister wasn’t looking at the ball and vacated the space where it was headed, virtually allowing Burns a free run at it.

Piss poor all around.

I would play a man down for Nunez. That guy is poor poor can be. 100 million from Saudi for Nunez and we will have a poster for Saudi at Anfield.

We’re being credited with a shot for that, but it looked more like a clearance.

Gakpo-Diaz-Salah had some lovely interplay and cutting edge a couple of months ago and is a known platform to build on.

Nunez might come on and grt a lucky flick or something but I prefer the structure of Diaz playing CF rather than the headless chicken.

So, another mediocre first half performance. Hopefully Slot can find a solution and we see a better performance second half.
I’m not optimistic though. Our midfielders all look knackered. Would like to see Curtis on for Dom to start with.

Really? They haven’t done much of note, everything has just been snuffed out by our defence. Needed to dive multiple times to win free kicks to look dangerous.
