Liverpool vs. Arsenal: League Cup Semi-finals (first-leg), 19:45 Thu 13th January 2022

Why were other covid positive games cancelled straightaway…but ours…naahhh…everything has to be considered…I’m betting they try and make us play…

That third rate trophy takes 8 of the 48 trophies we’ve won, 3 under Paisley (under which we never won an FA Cup). Regardless of differences of importance between periods, money prize, etc. There were periods when this great club couldn’t bloody win even a third rate trophy. Or won it twice on penalties against Championship sides. This is not how a normal professional club and one of the world’s biggest clubs should act. Abandoning the game would be disgraceful, I’d feel ashamed to be honest.

Because it is us.

Lets not forget, the F/L made us play a team of kids in a Q/F in the same competition when our first team squad were halfway around the world playing in another competition

I don’t see any dishonour in abandoning this game during a pandemic. As Klopp has said many times, there are too many games anyway. The league cup is the lowest down the priority list in any season, I see no point in risking players health for it. Of course this is hypothetical, lets see what the organisers come back with.

I’m surprised that the EFL haven’t already made a statement to be honest. The game is tomorrow ffs, a lot of people have to know if they travel to London or not. Once again, the football authorities ignore the needs and interests of the supporters who allow them to exist in the first place.

Meh…

Spot on, but sadly they need to consult with their Supreme Overlords (Sky) who will decide if the loss of money is acceptable or not, and then we will get shafted

Plus a Wembley final is a superb day out and occasion for our loyal fans. I am betting the majority of people saying throw it have never been to a final at Wembley. Many of my best memories involve cup finals at Wembley…it wasn’t called Anfield South for no reason.

So no keepers, no manager, no assistant manager, a bunch of other covid absentees, some injuries and three off at the AFCON.

If the bar for postponing is higher than that then I fully expect no further games to be postponed all season.

Were they cancelled immediately? I’m fairly certain that quite a few were also hanging in limbo there. I think this fiasco is just down to the incompetence of the footballing authorities (and the government at large, let’s be honest) rather than any particular malice…

The reason why the game is not postponed yet because tonight Liverpool is going to announce the signings of Haaland, Bellingham, Mbappe, so we have enough players.

Got a push message from Liverpool on my Iphone that the Axa Training Centre is closed.

James Milner: Goalkeeper-Manager.

Very good question @Zoran. Though from the reaction to the Lijnders news from one normally well-thought of fan channel (TAW), perhaps the question should be phrased: How could we have completely forgotten the role of Peter Krawietz in the club?

I am happy to step into the management breach.

I’ll tell these cunts what’s what. No way they’ll fuck with me, I’ll nunchuck their arses.

Thats the problem. You are going to be the only one who is happy.

I thought we were all invested in my personal happiness??!?! Have I been wrong this whole time??

Is that your Chuck Norris look?

The gown has a bit of a Hong Kong Fooey look to it.

I dunno, are you happy?

Not today…first day back at work…

And I was hoping to watch some football tomorrow night!
