I definitely like the intensity. Not sure I’ve seen this for more than a few minutes in a game this season.
Bit of passion being shown here
This is actively refusing to engage with the arguments being made for why a stronger team with more of the first choice combinations was called for.
Slot’s argument for our weak performances and bad results has been about the team needing more time to gel. Here is a free hit. An opportunity to get that time and those combinations are no where to be seen. Sure they can have extra day of hard training by not playing tonight, but a game scenario is surely a better opportunity.
I dont know that even I fully buy the argument, but in terms of pressure management, which is something Slot now definitely has to deal with, losing on Saturday will raise even more questions about why more werent involved today.
Rio could have played Fede in but inexperience played into it. We look decent so far but Palace would definitely not have expected this formation
Yeah our RW following and pressuring Guehi, good work
Let’s see how we defend set pieces now…
Endo went in on 3 duels in a row and won all 3. Just full on aggression
Endo and Ramsay look good on that far side.
Also, I’ve seen a header won that went to one of our own players, not to an opponent. Visible signs of improvement…
Just seen 4 successful passes…we’re back
Only if we score a goal that kisses the woodwork on its way in…
They are doing well at the moment.
Rio is menacing and would be a pain in the ass to defenders.
The end product can only get better.
Love the cautious optimism of “at the moment”.
Unlucky Rio, good play. Trey has a lovely weighted pass on him.
These young reds hungry.
Definitely 3 CB’s when defending and looks a good solid shape.
They could sit them next to the ball boys…to help out…
No smiling Mo.
Nothing to be happy about
Would probably misplace a pass to the ball boy
