Mane has been brilliant. About 10 passes from the DM position, plenty of linking from the central midfield area, and runs in behind the Leeds line as well.

Well that was fun.
Selfishly Iâm annoyed Salahâs last effort didnât creep in as heâs triple captained this week.
But really no complaints. This has (so far) been as straightforward as you could hope.
Fingers crossed they donât âwin the 2nd halfâ

Satisfactory first half. Iâve been avoiding looking at the Internet because my stream is a couple of minutes behind. I knew Mo had scored his second before I saw it because of the alert on the LFC app.
Anyway, I think we can look at some rotational substitutions in the second half. The pitch looks a bit slippy but itâs mostly Leeds having the mare.
The way Leeds play is all or nothing. They press and follow so relentlessly that your players lose the ball a bit more than usual but on the occasions they get it wrong they leave so much space in behind to attack.
They wonât stop either. Canât see them keeping the energy up for 90 minutes so just as many, if not more chances should become available in this second half.

A bit torn over who I want to lose that tie. Despise them both, but even though we spanked them in the group stages, they will pose far more of a problem in any subsequent rounds. More so than the Utd.

Wow, maximum generosity from the refs for us in this half, but the moves leading to the penalties were really good, and the lead is deserved due to the constant work all lads give on the pitch. Some really spectacular attacking moves, although a lot of them were squandered by a bad last pass or finish. Leeds want to play proper football, and that of course suits us to the tee.
Still, the 1-0 is a 50-50 penalty, although probably ok to be given, just. Until that moment, we were under the cosh. Alli almost cost us a goal (possibly a claim for a penalty here), and Leeds had some good moments. Matip striking a goal like an experienced center forward: priceless! Then the second pen⌠a joke, and Iâm sure weâd all be in arms if it was given against us . Anyway, I wonât complain. (edit: just saw the replays⌠dunno anymore⌠probably a penalty after all!)
Hopefully the second half will be similar, with a few more goals for us. Fingers crossed!
