Liverpool vs Real Madrid, Champions League Final @ Stade de France, 8pm in the UK [7pm GMT]

Despite the huge number of goals we’ve scored this season, it seems that we lack a good finisher who can take the chances against teams that play a low defensive block. In other words, a proper center forward.

Not blaming the ref by any means but what the hell was that at the end? Real commits the foul and boots the ball away and he doesn’t allow the free kick? Disgraceful. Real insult to injury.

It just seems unbelievable that in 3 finals that forward line couldn’t score a single goal…Real had a plan and it worked supremely well.

i still miss Wijnaldum

we have lacked the cutting edge towards the end of the season… salah’s season ended after the AFCON and jota has jus been very poor

Ultimately? Outplayed. That performance isn’t good enough for a European cup final.

Three finals, yes we won two of them, but failed to score a goal in any of the games.

All of this.

I’m always Team @Rambler after a frustrating loss bc he always know how to put things in proper perspective.

its ok VVD dont cry big man!!!LETS GO YOU REDS!!!

Might lie down on the motorway

This one hurts.

I look at our midfield and strange enough, we lacked physicality despite Hendo being there. We missed a 25 years old Steven Gerrard who will take the game by the scruff.

My only complaints are about some of the cunts on here dropping their bundles like three year olds.

No regrets

Unfortunately, street smarts won again.

Real sat back for 40 mins, and tried to look for Vinicious each time, but we kept that outlet out. Last 5 mins of first half some mistakes crept in.

Second half, Real started to pass it about. We then got back into it and started to push Real back. Around the 55min mark, Militao knew this, and rugby tackled, but knew how to play the ref to get not only a free kick, but to kill our rhythm with a pretend injury.

Ref kept shooing Henderson away, allowed Militao to rub it in, and then a couple of mins later, a break away goal from Vinicious.

The ref pissed me off, when the Real player in the first half had two arms around Diaz to stop the counter but never gave a yellow. Then, just like a Prem ref, geave Fab a yellow for the first foul.

Courtois kept Real in it. Anyway, I before the match, I would’ve preferred starting Mane, Bobby, and Salah, with Diaz first change in 60mins.

Just like in 2007, we played better, but came out with a loss.

Hasn’t this been the case for about a decade?

Some bizarre inevitably about Madrid this season. They’ve been second best in every game all through the knockout rounds but somehow get the result.

Look at their winning goal. A bad pass somehow finds its way through three Liverpool players, the winger then completely shanks his shot and it turns into a perfect crossbfor a tap in. Valverde couldn’t make that cross to save his life but on the night, once again, it just works for them.

Then at the other end Courtois is absolutely phenomenal. The save from Salah is ludicrous. I knew it was over when he saved that, the gods had decided it.

We still end the season with two trophies, great season by any metric.

Yes it does. Can only speak for myself but it hurts worse than 2018. We didn’t get played off the pitch tonight. Just a game of inches.

He did his job well. The midfield didn’t. Robbo didn’t. TAA didn’t. Our forwards didn’t.

I can’t blame him for crying!
