You need 2-3 seniors as glue in a team of Jedi Younglings or its capitulation. Klopp is still trying to win the game. Just not the very highest priority. If Van dijk is fit, it shouldnât be a big problem, although of course a minor risk.

Klopp probably wanted them not to be there. Removes the temptation to use them, also the right message sent to the youngsters that they are good enough to get this done against Southamptonâs B team.

Even if we just had all our kids available it would make such a difference to the team in games like these, Baj and Doak for Clark and Koumas all of a sudden youâre laughing.
With that being said I look forward to Clark assisting the winner for Koumas.
The kids were wonderful at Wembley on the day
But Chelsea were rubbish and we still had a good sprinkle of seasoned pros in the team and our fair share of good fortune.
I am a little concerned that tonightâs team might be a bit too lightweight.
Letâs hope Southampton have also picked a much weakened team.
