Well spotted. I blame a hangover.

Great result for Liverpool. We are now top of the league with 20 points from 9 games. This could be a crucial result in the chase for promotion back to the WSL.

Liverpool Women are at home vs. Blackburn Rovers Ladies in the FA Women’s League Cup this evening. Kick off at 7pm.

Looking at form, Liverpool will go into the game as favourites being unbeaten over the last 6 games, whereas Blackburn have only won once in that time.

The last meeting between the two was a 0-0 earlier this month.

On top of a great result for the men against Arsenal, Liverpool Women beat Sunderland 3-1 today to maintain their hold on top spot. We are now 12 games unbeaten and we have a 4 point cushion (though London do have a game in hand).

Liverpool have been drawn away to Burnley in the Women’s FA Cup 3rd round. The game will be played on Sunday 12th December (weather permitting of course).

Rachel Furness has made history as Northern Ireland’s all time top scorer after beating David Healy’s previous record.

Well done Furney. An outstanding achievement.

curious, do the ladies also train at Kirkby/AXA center?

No. According to what I can find online, they train at a venue called The Campus over on the Wirral. Their home ground is actually Prenton Park. It’s a real disappointment that the new facilities in Kirkby didn’t include space for the Women’s team.

Matt Beard is pushing for a new permanent home for the team too.

Think they train at the Solar Campus down the road from me on the edge of Wallasey Village just before you get to Leasowe. It’s where Tranmere Rovers train too.

Considering they play at Prenton Park, that would make sense as the clubs already have agreement for using Tranmeres facilities.

Hopefully there are plans to bring them into the main fold and get them working out of Kirkby in the near future - but it seems like the club see the womens team as not important, which is sad seeing as we had an excellent team a few years back

I don’t follow women’s football as much as men’s, give them follows etc. to help their numbers and that on social media and keep an eye on this thread. But my feeling is that they decided this summer they needed to do more bringing Matt back and recruiting a lot of new players. Good chance of getting promoted and the league has more money in it now. Think things are changing on this front.

I hope so. They are on an amazing run so far this season. Lets all hope that it leads to promotion and continued support from the club.

Missy Bo Kearns and Taylor Hinds scored 5 between them tonight for the young Lionesses in a very one-sided thrashing of Estonia. The game finished 11-0 to England. Lets hope they return to club duty without injury.

Rinsola Babajide has left the club.

What’s the real story with her? Brighton released her but also Liverpool?

Did the club treat her poorly or was she malcontent?

Im guessing it’s disciplinary issues, she seems a decent player and scores a few goals.
