Liverpool Youth Teams Thread

Quansah is very like Matip. Hope Jarell looks for a loan. Doubt he will join us on pre season as he might be on holiday for the next while

Jarell Quansah is a name that is so cool that Iā€™ll be extremely disappointed if heā€™s not at least a part of Liverpoolā€™s 2026/27 treble-winning team. Then again, the name just doesnā€™t get cooler than Fidel Oā€™Rourkeā€™s but ladā€™s progress seems to have stalled, unfortunately.

We should be in for him, but I guess him going to Dortmund so Jude can sign for usā€¦ Is okā€¦

Heā€™ll be on my list of ones to watch 22/23. I was disappointed he didnā€™t get much game time last season but this year heā€™ll be first choice CB for the U21s and I wouldnā€™t be shocked if he gets a decent amount of game time for the first team.

Whatā€™s a decent amount though, League and FA Cup matches?

Between Quansah, Koumetio and Sepp it would be nice if we could get just one player who is capable of being at least 4th choice for a good few years.

Quansah is well rounded (technically, defensive insticts, physically) and his performance levels at youth level are impressive.

Not totally convinced yet as to his long term first team prospects, but probably the best ā€˜properā€™ academy centre back since Martin Kelly.

Iā€™m genuinely devastated by this. Plus he plays in #69. It just doesnā€™t get better than that.

Yeah starts in the League and FA Cup hopefully. Iā€™m not expecting any league appearances. Decent would be 5 or so games.

From what little Iā€™ve seen, Quansah looks the much better prospect than the other 2.

Not sure I agree. Quansah has been much less error prone than those two at youth level but I think Sepp has the most ability.

I do like Quansah though, and think a championship team should take a punt on him. Iā€™d put those two ahead of Koumetio due to their mobility.

Itā€™s hard to directly compare any of them because theyā€™ve all been playing at different levels. Quansah had a quiet year last season after moving up from U18, Koumetio was a regular for the U23s and can Deb Berg was playing Championship football. On raw attributes alone Iā€™d probably say Quansah is the most talented but itā€™s not a clear cut thing.

Not a great loan. Could have got European football in Ireland at a higher standard

A level up I think at Stockport but I feel St Pats was a higher level. Championship lower half or upper League One. Playing Conference League in Europe. Think both these clubs are not as beneficial imo. But I know Iā€™m wrong Liverpool obviously think differently but just my thoughts

Doesnā€™t that also pretty much apply for Clarkson and Morton too?

comment came from Lewis Bower on twitter but I think Sepps two seasons of first team football gets him first team status rather than Morton and Clarkson who were playing u23s
