How do you feel about food now? One of the most unpleasant side effects I’ve heard from people is the loss of food drive they experienced actually went far enough to result in them getting no enjoyment out of eating even some of their formerly favorite stuff.
Id agree to a certain extent.
I love a curry and steak for example and a few others like fajitas - cant eat as much of it but lovely.
But run of the mill dinners are a bit boring.
New weight…15st 8.5Ibs (Started at 17st 2Ibs)
Just over a 1Ib this week but a loss is a loss.
I went to a festival over last weekend. I didnt drink much but didnt sleep well - one night I went a bed at 11.45 and was awake from 1.30 as the caravan was so uncomfortable and the previous night not much better due to s storm.
So I have felt tired all week and not done much other than sleep.
Next week back to walking more and more movement.
Still zero side effects.
Morning all.
This week 1Ib 5oz lost. Felt like id lost more but a loss is a loss. Dead on 15st 7Ib now.
Ordered 3rd pen of 2.5ml as I still dont have any cravings or feel hungry so no need to go up.
Zero side effects.
Finally sorted myself out after ADHD levels of analysis. This arrived a couple of days ago. Time to get some miles in.
That saddle looks risky. Will you change it?
Nope. I will get some decent cycling shorts and leggings in time. The ones I have are kind of ok and will do in the short term. The undercarriage will need to toughen up for sure. The saddle isnt that bad as well.
For now it’s purely about getting out and tweaking the fit as I go. I should probably go and get a proper bike fit but other things need to come first.
re-re-re starting my fitness journey.
flat move done, left knee tendinitis but i have to train my tendon to take progressive load. plus it having to ferry around this blubber isnt helping. havent been able to play football in months and thats also extra motivation.
As Romano says, here we go!
goal is to get to 75kg. im a 100-odd kg right now
Good luck.
Diet first.
Weight loss is 90% diet and 10% excercise.
Don’t over do the exercise initially. Walk just enough to maintain a calorie deficit and to strengthen the muscles.
Come down to 85 before you think about playing football.
Looks like drew McIntyre
Yeah it’s causing my knee problem to not heal. Need to do the physio indicated exercises and be patient
Some physio could help a lot.
I’d also get on an exercise bike to start the knee strengthening and base cardio.
How are you mounting stairs?
My knee has been one of the major issues retarding the recovery of my back. Stop any activity if it hurts!
Depends on the kind of hurt. sore muscles it’s all fine.
Even more than that, there is no way around addressing long standing tendinitis issues without experiencing pain or at least discomfort in the rehab. The key is to manage the dose of what you are doing so the symptoms dont meaingfully increase as a result.
@koptician I would highly recommend checking out the content from barbellmedicine.com on addressing tendinitis type pain. This is a good start
https://www.barbellmedicine.com/blog/tendinopathy-guide/
The hip pain guide is really comprehensive and while it wont be specific to your situation it will cover good ground for understanding how to apply the principles in that general tendinopathy piece
Yep , you are right in that. The issue is in differentiation between muscle soreness and tears.
I meant when in the action of bending/stretching it and also if due to 'over compensating.
Knees can give also so climbing has to be watched to prevent a fall.
Some physio stuff can, if the rule over pain isn’t followed, can put you back weeks.
I know all about overcompensating.
I had to discontinue my running regiment because I was overcompensating involuntarily on my left leg due to my prior injury on the right leg.
Led to a muscle injury on the left leg.
Muscle memory is a bitch. This was when I was running those half marathons.
Just don’t want anyone to make the mistake I did
It’s hard to give coherent advice on a forum.
Anyone with such health problems should seek hands on professional advice until they have the understanding and confidence to go it alone.
Hill climbing, standing in queues and sitting for long periods in airports helped me a lot on my holiday in the SW of England however I’d already followed a program for months with a physio before doing that.
