It was a joke. That everyone seemed to take it seriously is seemingly an indication of how this season has gone.
Anyhow the update above at least gives us some news about when he is back.

anyone else see two knee braces under the pants?
I paused it and I’m pretty sure it is the design of the clothes. Curtis Jones comes out a fraction of a second later and I paused it and he has the same lines.
Why would he be training on grass with knee braces? Would that happpen?
could be a device to prevent his knee from buckling inwards, a bit of extra support? Not sure. just looked odd and not the same fit as Jones’ pants
Yeah but if he needed extra support he’d be no where near training on grass never mind being close to playing in the 1st team I would have thought.
I’ve got a brace on. He won’t be training on them if he needs a brace to walk around.
How we’ve missed you Lucho…still got the pace, tricky, guile and even has a sliding tackle in him.

The Arsenal game was it? Been long ago, felt like even longer. Can’t even recall if the injury was from a direct collision with a player…my minds fighting with me to put it behind me as much as Lucho probably wants to put it behind him.
