You wait until Hughes finds out about him partying with influencers. He’ll likely change his mind the

Is Ben Jacobs reliable? If so, that’s a very strong statement. It’s not over, but this moves me to the other side of the line and I’d now say it is more likely Diaz stays than leaves this summer.

He is a good player and we should rightly be happy to keep him. I could easily see a gentleman’s agreement to allow him to go for £40-45M next summer, but in the meantime he gives us another season and gives us one less piece of business we have to do in the remainder of the window.

We need a striker, assuming Nunez leaves. My guess is Ekitike.
We need a central defender since Quansah left. My guess is Guehi, possibly Lukeba if Palace are greedy on the fee.

There also might be a Konate headache brewing if there is any credence to him being open to leaving this summer. So that would be another central defender needed.

So that’s 2, maybe 3 more signings, and presumably a few exit deals to be worked out as well.

Diaz is a headache we could do without right now, and while I’m far from certain he stays, the strong statement has moved the dial for me and in a changeable situation, I’d now say it is more likely he stays this summer. Still, it’s silly season and anything can happen.

I think these clubs are a menace to themselves, was it rumoured they expected we would let Robbo go for free.

Not a charity lads.

Rashford agent is in Barcelona so thats possibly another destination gone for Diaz.

To be very honest - Barca are 1000 times better than Madrid. Just hate Madrid for all the dirty things they have done to us, the worst being the Moron Ramos tackle on Salah. They paid 145 million for Coutinho - if it was Madrid they would have signed him for 50 million after asking him to go on a strike. On a lighter note, Going forward we need to include a clause saying you need to pay a compensation of 50 million pounds if you join Madrid on a free from us. Lol.

Don’t go there its a totally different conversation.

Seems after having agreed personal details they’ve decided instead to go after Marcus Rashford. If any of the last week is true I assume they approached us and we said fuck off.

Hopefully, Luis Diaz stay at LFC.

If the Rashford story is true, despite it straining all credulity, that would mean we have Diaz for another season, which is great news.
I doubt the Bayern rumours were anything other than wishful thinking on their part, and bargaining tactics on his.

I will accept a 80 million Euro and a 50-55 million Euro bid for Diaz and Konate. If Hughes is after Rodrigo won’t be averse to say a swap deal with Konate + 30 million Euros. But we need sign him on say 7-8 years deal like Chelsea. We should have signed Wirtz in a 7-8 year deal as he is only 22!! This moving to Madrid saga starts when a player is in the 3rd year of the contract. With 8 year deal we get a solid 6 years of service.

Ornstein saying Diaz “made clear he wants to leave”

Other sources “Diaz open to a move”

I can see us ending up with Gordon more an more.

We can accept a bargain 95m deal for Diaz. Especially as Ornstein says he’s keen to move.

Great player. Likable chap but can do without his continuous hankering for all things FCB.

Real Madrid won’t spend on Konate. They’ll wait till next year.

A few days back Pipe Sierra, the Colombian journo who has an in with Diaz/family (one of the first to report his transfer here, first to report about his dad), said Diaz was gonna tell the club if they weren’t renewing his contract to let him go.

Diaz knows he’s got one big contract left and he wants it. Club know that he’s getting on and feel comfortable keeping him a year and letting him go for free. For any change to happen this window Bayern or the Saudis are gonna have to stump up a lot of mulah
