Luis Diaz (LW) Bayern Munich

You get the feeling that both will be gone this summer, and I like both of them, but this might be the best time to get serious money for them. 150mp for the 2 and Isak could be brought in. We’ll have to wait and see how both Isak and Ekitike fit in to whatever system we deploy this year.
Are we going to see a repeat of the Rush and Aldo season of 88-89.

If we plan to start Ekitike and Isak, you would hope that it would last longer than one season. I wasn’t born at the time, but I’m not sure if Aldo and Rushie were ever a good fit playing together? Or long enough? Hence why Aldo left…

Will post in both transfer threads as potentially relevant

1 of them scored in every game they played together. Ultimately it was decided that 2 number 9,s into 1 position didn’t go so Aldo was sold, although he did want to stay.

I dont think Ekitike (and perhaps Isak?) Is that similar to Aldo and Rushie though and is more of a traditional 10 isnt he?

This makes sense as there seems nothing particularly concrete about Nunez.

I do expect only one needs to drop into place for us to start moving on Isak.

Getting the sense that Rio Ngumoha might be in the calculation behind the potential Diaz exit.
What a talent. Very balanced tactically…

So, it will be Wirtz #7, as I predicted.

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

He has looked incredible in the pre-season footage, but I think at 17 you still have to view him as a bonus rather than someone who factors in your decision to get rid of a 28 year old “world class” regular.

Just have to remember Nyoni was our best midfielder last pre-season, but obviously was not ready physically for senior football.

Hoping Rio really is ready this (as well as Nyoni) and gets some chances, but also understand not to count on it.

Diaz being left out suggest the move to Bayern is close and rather likely to get done.

Yeah, young wingers often catch the eye with their step overs and fancy skills, but there’s so much more to being effective in that position. We’ve had this narrative with a number of youngsters over the years and few have gone on to make it. The signs look good with this lad, but it’s too soon to be pencilling him in to a first team role yet.

Okey dokey. It’s a bit strange that you’re often in my time zone, but whatever, that’s just fine.

I’ve never met a German that I didn’t like. Oh hang on, you’re not German.

Yeah, whatever. I hope you are enjoying the summer wherever or whatever you are.

Are you proprietorial about your timezone Legman?

I’m enjoying a rather wet Summer in Berlin, but enough about me, let’s talk about Lucho. I hope he’s aware that he’s going to be soaked with beer on a regular basis. I’ve managed to avoid this in my time in Germany, but it can’t be pleasant.

Maybe, maybe not. Pretty sure there were people saying same about Lamine 3yrs ago; not to compare the two players directly…

In any case, he would be behind at least two players in that wide left role…

If we’re at this stage it’s surely just a matter of time now.

I do live in North Rhine-Westphalia, in a spa town with ca 49.000 inhabitants, 40 kilometres apart from Bielefeld. But i am born and grew up in Zeven, a little town with ca. 14.000 inhabitants between Bremen and Hamburg. My parents comes originally from Sri Lanka and are ethnic Tamils.

I would not do emigrate from Germany. Only if the far-right AfD comes into the Bundesregierung (federal government, the gouvernment of Germany).

Luis Diaz i would recieve with handkiss in Hamburger SV. :joy: But that are not realistic.

Rio was very good, he rinsed Tomori and Saelemaekers a couple of times and both are seasoned professionals, he just seems so natural as he can cut inside or go outside equally as good.

His decision making and final ball/shot are what needs improvement but that can be said for most youngsters, however, he this is improving already from what I saw with the youth teams.

Arne after Darwin stays and becomes Europe’s top goalscorer with 57 in all competitions…
