I think it’s going to be really difficult to catch Uruguay now for 4th, but 5th place is still there to defend.

While their next game is against Argentina, their final 2 games are very winnable, but Uruguay will probably expect to get something out of all 3 of their remaining games so think 4th is probably out of reach now.

For 5th they’ve got to stay ahead of Chile and Peru. Chile’s remaining schedule is shit, and who the hell are Peru? It’s very doable, especially if they can get something out of Argentina. So it’s still a decent shot but will likely find themselves needing to win their last 2 and hope a Chile side drop points against sides who dont need to win and will likely be playing much changed line ups with the stars rested.

I love the background story for Diaz. If it all goes through, well done that lad. Can’t wait to see him in a red shirt. And if he hits the ground running - and why not? - then maybe we will have a good go at winning several things this year, given the depth up top.

This guy seems to have gone under the radar but quickly progressed through the ranks. His performances in the CL certainly made him stand out.
