Luis Diaz (LW) Porto

Holy cr@p. Take a look at his two goals in this - Columbia vs Peru back in July 2021. I know itā€™s just Peru but itā€™s still a decent standard.

I have just deleted a load of squabbling posts. Please stop it. This thread is supposed to be about Luis Diaz (LW) Porto, the possibilities of his transfer and general quality. Mockery of Spurs will of course be tolerated as off-topic but appropriate.

Fechinā€™ international breaksā€¦

You donā€™t post on the independent do you? Iā€™ve seem this name used elsewhere.

You probably just remember it from when I freed Germany from Roman oppression.

No, not the Independent. I use it in a couple of other places, though not for years.

Really only Diaz gets everyone riled silly :innocent:

Roman oppression not really my thing, but a good moniker anyway. Just wondered. Apologies for some of the crap, but I was just trying defend my corner. I wasnā€™t trying to divert the subject of the thread.

Honestly, a few days ago i wouldnā€™t have believed we were really interested. There were so many links to so many different players that i gave no credence to any particular one.

Surprised really both by the rumoured price ( it seems quite reasonableā€¦ especially for Porto ) and that we are serious about making this happen.

Equally a few days ago, if u asked me who I wanted it wouldnā€™t be Diaz. But now that the transfer committee has shown it wants him, i want him here too!

I find Romano a strange journalist. Very rare that he actually breaks a story (he can report earlier than others sometimes but thatā€™s usually when heā€™s translating into English - for example it was common reporting in German about Thiagos transfer even though our journos were denying it. Romano just used with the German info instead of the info we were feeding journos and tweeted it in English) and yet he has developed a reputation for reliability because he will often only post about a transfer when he feels a degree of certainty about it. Having Romano tweet about a transfer is like passing an MOT - itā€™s not the exciting or fun part of owning a car but itā€™s always nice to know itā€™s safe to drive. I guess Diaz has passed his MOT.

Nope heā€™s a fraud. Think they call him a tap-in merchant on twitter :joy:

Thatā€™s kinda my point  heā€™s not someone who breaks a story. Heā€™s developed his reputation and following by waiting for dead certs to tweet about - he is very careful and safe in what he chooses to report. Its strange that heā€™s developed such a following despite being late to the party all the time. He is a strange journalist. Its also oddly reassuring to see a positive tweet from Romano about a Liverpool transfer because I know he wouldnā€™t risk the following heā€™s built up by tweeting anything that wasnā€™t guaranteed.

Didnā€™t he post about Everton wanting Diaz and Diaz wanting Everton?

I think thatā€™s why heā€™s liked. Probably a good personality who got some good connections due to it and then safe reporting which gave him high reliability in a business notorious for shite talking and lies

Why does Goldbridge keep calling him Louie? Is that how itā€™s pronounced? Because if so theres a brilliant song ready to be sung by the Kop.

No. Itā€™s ā€˜loo-isā€™. Same as Suarez.

I wouldnā€™t trust anything Romano writes. The amount of bullshit written by him far outweighs his hits. As for this lad, he seems quite lively, and apparently, one of their best players, so Iā€™m stunned, how they could let him go, during their season. Take this with a grain of salt.
