Saw the first one, a clinical finish on a ball that didnt look like it was there to be finished yet, and thought “that is a textbook Luis goal.”

I then saw the second, full of defenders being left in the dirt by a series of clumsy looking dribbles and ricochets, before an imperfectly hit shot creeps in at the back post and I thought “no, that is a textbook Luis goal”

He’s such an unselfish player. Lesser players than him would have shot first rather than look for the team to have the best chance of scoring.

He was always better than Ronaldo, really.

Looks like he can barely run now.

MLS prices have gone through the roof. Especially at Inter.

I was looking at those goals again and again. He has still got it. He is such a good reader of the ball and opposition moves.

Luis Suarez is simply in a class of his own. He is a phenomenal talent, he may not be up there with Messi and Ronaldo but he is pretty close. I am sure if he stayed with us, he may have won the league much earlier with Liverpool and Jürgen’s mentorship.

True. I also think he would have taken a bite out of Jurgen.

I am sure 6 ft 3 Jürgen would have put Luis in a headlock😂.
Jürgen always has the last laugh with his players.

Luis was crafty though, every time he bit someone, he acted as if the opponent had broken his teeth. :joy:.

Is it fitting that he ended with 69 goals? Discussion encouranged.

Given he loves a bite, the receiving party might not be so keen

His legs lasted longer than what i expected.

But still, he was the best player in a Liverpool shirt that i’ve seen.

It’s remarkable that his knees were fucked as long ago as his move to Atletico. That was 5 seasons ago and since then he was won a Uruguyan title, a La Liga title and a third place in the Copa.

Yup, in fact he is probably the best player I’ve seen in the flesh.

Partly because both Ronaldo and Messi were crap when I saw them.

When I’m 80 I might tell any young’uns this anecdote.

Suarez got shut down by James Collins first time I saw him :smiling_face_with_tear:

Thats why I said in the flesh, I didn’t see that you did.

I was at Anfield for Thierry Henry’s first visit as an Arsenal player, and he was utter, utter cack. Obviously he went on to be a great for them, but it always amuses me thinking about that first impression.
