Walker is at a stage of career where he might want to try something new and foreign before it’s too late. City’s performances and his personal performances aren’t up to level. Club captain also. Maybe didn’t feel right to be one of the main leaders of that. All parties perhaps concluded that it’s best to move on. I could see this Khusanov kid competing for that CB at RB role. Apparently he has great pace and a very good tackler.
Like not being a complete and utter bellend?
Biggest challenge of his life.
No wonder he’s a doper
His head is at least 4 times the size of hers…!
Just a thought… but but but… If the Cheaters finish with 75points this season, and miss out on a CL place - I wonder if it would suit them to settle on a 50point deduction, applicable to this season alone… as they would probably swerve any relegation due to the 3 other teams that are unlikely to hit a 25point total…
This would mean the matter would be closed, and they are not really any worse off.
With these sneaky fuckers, I’m sure they have explored every angle
I dont know that the PL sides will have any say in the punishment, but there was a raft of reporting about 6 months or so where all of a sudden lots of people were talking about it off the record. The prevailing sentiment was 1) clubs overwhelmingly think City have to get punished for what they did, 2) the punishment has to be sophisticated enough to cover the reality that these acts are what built the foundation City now runs on, and a large penalty split across multiple seasons seemed to be the preferred result.
That is to say, I think if City got a punishment that looks big but suits them in the short term there will be a big negative reaction that will be really bad PR for the league.
Considering they are on course for 27pts and you always see a slight uptake at the end you are probably looking at 32pts.
As I said they will probably get relegated if the charges stick but they won’t be free falling down the leagues. The Leicester decision put pay to that.
This makes me sad
Only issue would be if they didn’t get promoted after 3 seasons, though that might have changed slightly, It’s why when Everton were in their bleak position before the owners took over they could get stuck down there and have major issues.
If you were to be optimistic they could ban them for a number of years but I doubt that would stay in place. I would expect the best is stripped of titles, a fine and a relegation.
And that is the best, do I expect it to happen? No, if the charges do stick I could see a relegation mind.
I guess one glimmer of hope would be lots of clibs pilong in on them with legal proceedings. That might make it interesting for a while
I’m not so sure about that. If they get relegated, they then need to comply with the financial regulations in place for The Championship, which are stricter and more robust than the P/L. Unless they sell off a huge number of their squad, they could face failing the Championship PSR which could see them kicked out of that into League One, where the financial rules get tougher as does the rules in League Two.
They’ve got the parachute payments grace as well as the three years.
They will be fine, if they got stuck then they would struggle, it’s why so many clubs when in that third year splash loads in January if it looks like missing out.
If the championship has the same 3 (?) year reporting period, then they’ll be down and back up in a single season without any of the financial controls coming into play.
I’m pretty sure that’s how it works that they would have to have a full accounting period and I don’t see Man City being there for that and after Leicester avoided punishment by moving the months this season I would assume the same applies here.
Also they would I assume get parachute payments though as a PL benefit they could be quashed.
Sounds like City are close to bringing in Nico from Porto. He was one of the new generation of Barca academy grads who looked like they were going to save Barca from themselves by having a whole new generation of top players available for nothing. After one really encouraging season though he got squeezed out as the senior players returned to fitness and Gavi broke through so was forced to move on.
I dont think his ceiling as high as Zubi and so this seems more like a stop gap who wont pose quite the same issues once Rodri gets back to fitness, but is a big upgrade compared to what they have available right now.
Well they have nothing at the moment. So that seems somewhat obvious.
Spending a truckload of money in January, so that new players can bed in in time for the next season, while buying some more in the summer? Tactical genius, I say.
