Been close how many times have we hid the woodwork?
Still need more quality, Macca leading by example, winning most of his duels and aggressive in the challenge.
Too many aimless crosses and Trent you need to sort your shit in the corners or we’ll be getting Adams back cos we know how much his deliveries are worth
It required individual brilliance though. Not comfortable. Deserved ? Probably. Possession wise, certainly. In chances, we are fairly equal with Leicester.
ANYWAY, doesn’t fucking matter. Because now it’s a new half, that usually means a new game ! And then on Anfield, we will rise and play a higher tempo game with better movement, next half. Probably.
I think we’lll win. But if i was a Leicester fan (I thought they were defensively fantastic, castrating our attacks completely, nullifying our movement), I would be a bit miffed. They were very good and when they countered, looked lethal.
We really need the crowd to start counting once the keeper has the ball. It will be embarrassing for the refs and would highlight the incompetence clearly
I understand but he hasn’t done himself any favours with today’s performance insipid at the best, at least Gakpo got in position and then later produced a goal
Important equalizer just before the end of the half. Leivester with the classic smash and grab, and ref allowing slow restarts (2 minutes after all teh time wasting, so called injury, goal during injury time, etc). The yellow for Gomez was a joke.
Just need composure and nous and the game is there for the taking. Would also like Trent/Andy to get the the byline at times. Post and crossbar, so we’re getting close.
Thank fuck for that late equaliser. Well done Gakpo for that, but otherwise, it has been a bleak first half. Not much produced up top, and conceding a pretty stupid goal.
A lot needs to improve if we are to take the three points tonight. The silver line is that our lads have been slowly improving their game towards the end of that first half (maybe the Leicester players started tiring down?), so hopefully the trend will continue during the second half, fingers crossed!
Leicester have been daring us to take a shot from distance but we are either turning them down or wildly smashing them too high and too hard. Gakpo finally gets a good shot in (Salah too) and the goal comes.
Robertson is becoming a big concern. Still does a lot of things right but he’s all over the place defensively and is very weak in the challenge. On that goal he loses the battle then turns his back and loses track of the ball - all he has to do is stand still.
He’s clearly still very good but his days as a starter might be coming to an end unless he can start winning these challenges again.
Strange one. Dodgy weather, but I’m glad it is being played and we are getting on with it.
We have not been playing well, and the most disappointing aspect of that is the lack of composure. There has been a certain panic in our approach from about 20 mins on. Chill out, play your football, and chances will open up! Most of that half felt like we were forcing it, as if the game is in the 87th minute or something.
The ref has been poor, letting them time waste and flop over all day long. The underdog will do whatever it can get away with. It needs better refereeing.
I expect Slot to tweak it, probably with a couple of halftime subs, or at least something tactical, and if they don’t get a grip on the game by the hour mark, I suspect subs/more subs will be incoming.
I think we will win, but it has been a sloppy start again, and an unusual degree of panic as we chased after the equalizer.
