Ryan, Cody and Darwin on four yellow cards…

Good thread. A little early in my view but that’s okay.

Only major issues if both got one in that game and Grav. Like Cody out would be rotation anyhow with Jota around.

Wouldn’t be the worse run of games to see them happen in.

If Kav was on the pitch they would be getting a yellow.

We have West Ham on the 29th but we can start with a result against Leicester.

We also played them on Boxing Day in 2019 on the way to winning the title. To my mind, that was the best performance of that season. I’d like to see something approaching it this year.

5 years later. It doesn’t feel like it, does it?

Well we are a bold team.

To dare is to do!!

It doesn’t feel like we can’t beat Leicester 4-0? Suppose you are right I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet but we blew Spurs away for about 55 mins today bar a 5 min spell.

Leicester at home in winter time when we’re in a title race reminds me of that sad 1-1 draw with them in 18/19, when we could’ve went 10 points ahead of City if we had won.

But anyway, it has nothing to do with this now, let’s go on a new “little” run of winning league games.

You mean the game where Maguire should have been sent off and we weren’t awarded a clear penalty when Pereira trod on Naby’s ankle? We were absolutely robbed in that game.

BTW, it would have been a seven-point lead.

Yeah, you’re right, 7.

Was snowy and after a early lead through Mane, I just hoped we would win it in any way. That was one of the first moments when I thought after the game “this one could be costly”.

My abiding memory of that night, apart from Atkinson shafting us and basically costing us the title, was how the groundstaff cleared their penalty area of all the ice at half-time but left ours like a fucking ice-rink.
Surely it should have been the other way round?

Alisson
Trent Gomez Virgil Tsimikas
Grav Mac
Salah Dom Diaz
Jota

Forwards - I’ll keep Diaz in the LW on this one. He’s been immense in the CF role but atleast to start with, Jota to start in the CF role here. Can always switch back if it isn’t working out. Imperative that we get Jota back to scoring goals and he’s better served in the CF role. He tends to lose his sting when he plays in the LW.

Midfield - the only concern is the yellow cards Grav has picked up. Two more matches for him to have those struck off. Could that be a factor in playing Endo in for this match ? We can look at that possibility.

Defense - Hoping that Konate gets fit enough to play in the first week or so of Jan. Till then The CBs pick themselves, Trent is the only fit RB and we should be rotating Robbo with Tsimikas in this to keep both players happy and match fit.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

We’re not Spurs!

I recall our wonderful festive win against these a few years ago (2019), on our march to the title. Trent scored a fantastic goal and we won 4-0. Want a similar, commanding, victory.

Line up wise - same again I reckon - maybe Jota in for Gakpo.

We actually have 5 players on 4 yellows right now. Konate, Grav, Szobo, Nunez and Gakpo.
Even if we lost them all at once we could still put out a very good side such is the strength of the squad right now.
