My take is that Slot is learning the league and the opposition, playing everyone for the first time.
It’s different to base your prep solely on videos, and different when you see what’s happening hands on.
That he is able to say what’s needed at the break, then play much better, is really incredible.
My guess is that in the second half of the season, when he will be playing everyone for the second time, we’ll see much better first halves.
