Tons of analysis, most of which is about right, but there is one word that sums up the entire plight of Manure post Fergie: Arrogance.

It came out last season when it looked like they were competitive again.

United still haven’t done the hard internal work post Fergie. They remain entitled.

They might as well still be at day one.

Oh it’s not a lot but I’m being generous to them because of their relatively young ages and the fact they’ve all been better than they’re showing now.

What you want are a handful of players coming into their prime years but when you look who that is in their squad (aside from Cunha and Mbeumo) it’s de Ligt, Martinez, Dalot, Mount, Rashford and Zirkzee. Or crock, short angry crock, crap, crock, former bomb squad and the full house of crap crock former bomb squad.

And what else is there? Maguire and Shaw both on the back end of careers at the top end. Mainoo who I think is massively overrated. Tielemans who the fans are turning on already.

It’s an insanely poorly built squad.

Feels like we were the same through the 90s. Felt like that changed somewhat with Houllier and then Benitez, then his downfall and the disastrous Hodgson term made us humble.

Kenny sort of hit the reset button, and while Rodgers didn’t excite me, you could still feel things were changing for the better with the overall club structure at the time. Klopp coming in and restoring us to the top club we always knew we were kind of completed the cycle for me, and I feel we’ll be somewhat successful under Iraola.

Amen.

They’ve not learned a fucking thing.

Shame.

I kinda agree, but never saw us as arrogant as Manure were in their pomp. I do remember those 90s very well. I was at the last game we could remain theoretical champions again, its was at the city ground v Forest. I think they did us 2-0, and that was that until 2020. Yeah I think we were in denial with Souness and Evans, snd then went woefully accepting of not being champions, which I think. was What Klopp shifted, a la doubter to believer. What fckn speech that opening interview was.

The squad has gotta be 5 years away at least from competing.

I wonder if the commerical strength will hold out that long?

Their fans just don’t accept that you sometimes have to go through pain and get rid of players that might even be fan favorites if you want to progress. They are finally past their “player FC” days when they’d all throw support behind the likes of Martial or Rashford, etc., but the club structure is still so completely rotten that they don’t understand the concept of addition by subtraction.

I remember when Klopp came in we had Lovren and Mamadou Sakho at CB along with Skrtel. At the time, I really thought Sakho was our best defender and couldn’t understand why Klopp wanted rid, but it turned out to be one of his best decisions, same with replacing Johnson at RB with TAA.

United’s brass don’t operate that way - they just see that they’ve spent x amount on each player, so they want to keep them on the books to “preserve their value” and be able to list them as an asset on their ledger for the shareholders. It’s absolute madness and no way to run a football club. The cunts.

The Caf:

Gotta say, comparing the Glazers and INEOS to Fred and Rose West was not on my Yanited bingo card for this season…

Over the course of about 3 years they have rebuilt their defense (De Ligt, Yoro, Mazraoui, Dorgu) on season, then their attack the next (Mbuemo, Cunha, Sesko), before doing the midfield this summer. Ignore that is a mental way to go about doing your transfer business, not one of those cohorts has actually worked. Not only have they not fixed any area, there is barely a player there you could claim is an unqualified success they have to keep

We can only dream of a double Manchester relegation this season, to be sure, a sign of the apocalypse.

I can see Man City competing for honours again before Man Utd are

Yeah you got it from that fan on a Voxpop last week, we are Man Utd we can get anyone.

That’s why they have a list with Conte and McKenna.

Hear these all the time.

I doubt Conte has a fucking clue who Wilcox is. Probably just fan cope.

I didn’t, I got it from listening to Mancs around Ashton, all of sudden, started to be pop-up-cunts again end of last season, and all summer really.

Nah I was just saying it as the latest example

Ordinarilly, I would agree, but if it is true that Conte has been sounded out to take over, then he would be pretty foolish to not be looking at the staff already in place and finding out who they are - especially the higher ups that he would be reporting to
