Miloš KERKEZ: 2025/26

Solid performance today with two crucial headers at the end.

He seems to be targeted in the air a lot, which is something you’d expect from a coach like Moyes. Credit to him for showing composure, though his main challenge is being consistently good. Games against Arsenal and Everton have shown a lot of his qualities in defence but the others have shown his naivety in that regard. Also, Gakpo’s average form hasn’t helped him in the attacking aspect, you can see that they still don’t work well together.

He is coming into a new set up, if he was stinking out every game then fair enough.

I thought he was excellent today, nothing was created down our left and he kept Ndiaye, who is one of Evertons better players, very quiet

He’s 21 years old. Plenty of time to get even better.

He can learn from Robbo in the meanwhile.

I do think he misjudged the flight of the ball w.r.t his Everton goal. But that mistake could have been done by anybody. Apart from that , he had a very solid game.

Bradley had a tougher time against Grealish but that was because grealish was being a cheating prick.

Absolutely thick as two fucking planks. Running onto it could have cleared the fucking ball and in all honesty, ref would have said ‘thank you very much, final whistle and fuck off home everyone’.

Instead, he contorts himself all the way just so he could use his left foot to get it out of play in the danger area. Fuck me. Is he genuinely that daft?

We didn’t lose because of him alone. The whole team played badly for the vast majority of the match.

Yeah, I get the logic but up until that point the teams were level and the game was over bar the whistle. The team played poorly but had salvaged it. There is no excuse for that. None.

Still learning and adapting. Has struggled defensively, with teams targeting him. Also hasn’t shown much attacking wise.

Probably down to tactics, as when we have the ball, he goes infield. Needs to mix it up a bit.

Especially so when like today against Palace where he had Wirtz as the wide left forward, who also likes to go inside. Needed to make a couple of overlapping runs, which he’s rarely done.

Slot should let Andy step in to give Kerkez time to work on things in practice.

From what I saw, he was :poop: today, and it’s not the first time.

He’s certainly a mad one. Physical traits are pretty impressive though. It’s horrible to say, but I wish some classy LB’s had his body.

I’m more worried that he doesn’t seem to work with any of the left wingers Slot deploys ahead of him. Absolutely no chemistry or understanding of any sorts. Whether he overlaps, comes short, plays them through… I guess that too much change, too soon has finally bitten us on the arse today.

i get the impression that he’s all brawn and no brains!

He has much to learn

It’s way too early to write anyone off. Kerkez is young and trying to get used to playing in a new team with different players. It’s not been a great start but he has plenty of time.

My lad and I were laughing in midweek when he lashed that ball into the crowd near the end when he had plenty of time to do something constructive with it.
Not laughing tonight though, I think he might be fucking dense.

Looks like this lad and Hugo share half a brain cell between them.

Just saw the winner for the first time and I’m stunned this is what Kirkez has been getting such criticism for. With seconds to go, putting the ball out for throw 30 yards from goal is a perfectly reasonable thing to do and safer in the circumstances than trying to clear it with your weaker foot back across goal where any number of things can wrong. If you’re conceding from there it isn’t because of the guy who put it out for a throw

I agree, I was actually afraid for a split second how he would react to that, but overall I think he made the right decision. We lost some easy balls in attack a few times in minutes before the goal. All that put aside, we have to defend that situation better than we did. We’ve conceded some very similar goals so far.

Scapegoats, people have their easy targets to pick on.
