Miloš KERKEZ: 2025/26

What a complete over reaction, have you been drinking?

that is actually exactly what you’re doing. So much was required to happen after Kirkez’s decision for that to be a goal yet it’s that decision you’re taking issue with.

No, perfectly lucid and on the way to cricket. What the fuck are you on about? Basically according to you, your opinion is the be all and anyone else to the contrary must be drinking. The entitlement on here is stunning at times.

Naturally. I’ll contort myself around to give the opposing team a chance to attack rather than clear the ball upfield. Got it.

Fuck sakes, for once just admit someone fucked up instead of the gymnastics as to why he didn’t.

He isn’t thick or dense, but he’s also not comfortable with what is asked of him.

He doesn’t bomb forward like he did with Bournemouth which is one of his biggest strengths and he hasn’t formed an understanding with his teammates, particularly those in front of him.

Nope, other opinions do matter when they are put in a calm way, but ranting because you disagree is OTT and does nothing for your argument.

In these early days of his LFC career Kerkez should be used as the understudy to Robbo, ready to come in when Robbo needs a break or isn’t have a good game himself.Ease the lad into the role as he’s still young and learning how we play.By the end of the season if he has managed to make the position his own rather than it being handed to him then he keeps it.

get the lad on a diet of Irn Bru, buckfast and haggis,

and he’ll be playing like Robbo in no time!

If people are actually somehow finding a way to put the blame on him for their winner then we may aswell shut the forums down and call it a day.

It’s impossible to watch that first half abombination then point the finger to a clearance all because it didn’t end up in an area of the pitch you thought was a safe spot.

We defended the threw very poorly. You just should not be conceding goal from a throw in 10 yards outside the box. Frimpong was more interested in counter attacking than defending and that is why he wasn’t in position to defend when the ball dropped to nketiah.

Isn’t that what you said you demand of the analysis? To find the mistake most directly adjacent to the chance, not some silly issue far earlier in the sequence? So even if you were upset by Kirkez’s decision shouldn’t you be looking for ways we defended the subsequent throw in poorly?

Er, no. My comment was directly related to the fact that everytime comment is made on a defensive error, some football guru tells us that if players x and z didn’t lose the ball a few yards outside the oppenents box then it’s not player y’s fault that the opposition scored 10 seconds later even if player y could have done a better job and that in actual fact, player y needn’t have done a job and could have impersonated a traffic cone because in the infinite wisdom of the footballing students on here, player x and z bear the responsibility of the goal and player y, well he shouldn’t have been put in that position and so he didn’t have to do his job, ad nauseam. Now, needless throw conceded and a goal shifted but for some reason, it’s nowhere near being Kerkez’ fault.

I’ve said this before and I will say it again, this place is becoming more and more rarified. One should definitely watch what happened then wait to hear what actually happened. The vast majority of people I’ve spoken to today can’t quite believe how stupid the action was but again, here we are.

@Sportbilly1996 are we supposed to be shrinking violets? One oke jokea on about bedding every pretty lass that comes up on a thread, another ogles the pic of every guy that comes up but I have to watch the PG language? Virtual pub my arse then.

For all that crap served up we were actually level with 20 seconds to go. How any can say his being thick didn’t lead to that goal and thus our defeat is beyond me.

Slot: Frimpong was irresponsible on defending the throw, being more interested in counter attacking than staying in a good defensive position allowing the goal scorer to be free

You: er no, it was actually because of a decision someone else made way earlier in the sequence

I don’t get how you don’t see you are doing the thing you claim makes this places frustrating and silly

@wyld.at.hrt whatever you do, dont say that when we stuffed united , that you remember Bruno wanting to come off😬

its both really, its not even a debate… Kerkez could have done better, we cou;d have defended the moment better…

the old adage its a team game still rings true…

Kerkez should hold his hands up, Frimpong should hold his hands up aswell…

Yeah, and let’s move on and get back to supporting our players.

I didn’t see that as a mistake, really. It would have been better to clear it with his right foot but it wasn’t a particularly poor decision to put it out. We saw many, many worse pieces of play than that yesterday.

Kerkez has done okay so far, the second best of the new signings behind Ekitike.

The one glaring issue - he’s a great crosser of the ball who we haven’t managed to get in crossing positions. He’s either underlapping, or the left winger isn’t finding is overlaps.

Surely it’s a simple fix. Play to his strengths, or we might as well have signed a more defensive player.

I was interested how we would use him with Wirtz playing on the left (and of course, playing it differently to Gakpo). You could already see that we abandoned building from the back in that 3 shape, but Kerkez being pushed higher and wider.

This was in the end his and (starting) team’s average positions:

Average positions are a bunk stat though… even at the most basic of levels players leave areas open for pronlonged periods of time so they can move into them in the critical moments

heat maps are probably useful for centre backs, maybe centre midfielders to a point, for everyone else its not a great indicator of how they played or where they were most effective.

you could score a hattrick by hanging around the centre cirlce to eighteen yard area for 80 minutes and moving into the box three times.

It was evident already by watching the game that he was being used differently, this is only a tool to help show it.
