Gotta be true then!

VJC is the type who spends hours trawling the sensational parts of the internet and believing every bit of it instead of being skeptical about it.

Though I am glad they are happy, this time every year they are usually having a breakdown.

First game of the season, Bournemouth at home. I wonder if Kerkez will start that one?

Well if Robbo leaves then yeah.

OK. I wonder if he’ll start for us against his old club in his first game if Robbo is still with us.

If Robbo has gone then of course it’s a given that Kerkez will start, unless his dad hears what we’ve being saying about him and tells his lad to not sign for those gobby scousers.

Matchday 1 is a long way ahead. We’ll start who we think is the right option. The first 3 league games straight after pre-season (and also with the window still open) are often viewed as a mini league before the first international break in September.

Not really. Traditionally they didn’t bother with the table until at least 3 games.

They really aren’t viewed as a mini league. And never were. They are viewed as 9 points in a title race.

The old adage is that you don’t even really look at the league table until 10 games have been played, as then it starts to take a bit of shape.

Still, I can get on board with the intent of what Zoran is saying. You don’t want to fall behind early on, and then go away on an international break… where you can’t do anything about your league position for a little while.

Start fast. Then see what’s what!

It’s not my theory, coaches have spoken about it. They don’t want to rotate a lot in those first 3 league games, especially if it starts well and signs are good. Full week to prepare also.

That’s excellent news. He’s always been very good when I’ve seen him, unfortunately only 9 matches, but I’d be surprised if this is anything but a great deal for us.
We had a long period of disappointment at left back before Robbo and it’s nice to know we’ll be well covered there for a few years.
