Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

That’s reassuring

He’s been better than either of those players, and he’s part of the team that helped us win our first league title in 30 years. He’ll be a legend and loved here forever. Anyone who wants to turn on him doesn’t have any sense of the importance of what he’s helped this club accomplish.

I don’t believe he will join another premier league club but imagine him lining up for city or utd against us.

I’ve always said you’re my favorite poster.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Well if he lined up for Man Utd we could tick off the idea he left for trophies.

I couldn’t disagree more. It’s a double edged sword. He’s been so significant for us that it would hurt significantly (fans and club) if he went to City, Chelsea or MU on a free. I don’t think it’s forgivable if he ran down his contract and did that. Now on the other hand, if Karius did the same, I don’t think anyone would give a shit. Anyway, I think it’s a moot point as it’s all posturing imo.

I also think there are people that can to turn on him if he did that, and still understand the importance of what he accomplished, it’s actually not that difficult.

Hope this works

Jeez there’s some paranoia in here. There’s no way he’ll go to a PL rival. His love for Liverpool is clear, no matter what his dick of an agent may or may not say to the media

Maybe, but if his agent is his best mate, surely Mo could tell him not to make such statements as it is damaging to his relationship with the fans.
It wouldn’t be difficult.

Only reason he goes to a PL team is money. But apparently it’s not about money

Is it? I don’t think he is showing any “extra” affinity to the club than a lot of other players have before their moves. Players have been switching to rival clubs all the time and will continue to do so… and in this case: his agent and according to some on here “best friend” have claimed that his preference is to stay in the PL.

Fan backlash has not stopped a lot of players from moving, let’s be honest. He’ll probably go where he gets a contract to his liking. It could be here, it could be elsewhere…

If he thinks there is no better opportunity than to stay, he will sign.

Not many have made that move to be honest. Sterling and Torres spring to mind, but they both destroyed their relationship with us in the process.
Mo has built an amazing reputation here and he’ll remain a legend if he goes abroad. If he ends up at City, Chelsea or some other PL club he’ll be on a level with Michael Owen.

Torres didnt destroy his relationship with most supporters. He is still seen in a very good light by the majority.
Sterling is different.

He did at the time.

Over time we forgave him somewhat as his move was so clearly a mistake, and because he continued to speak fondly of the club, but when it happened it hurt like hell.

In fairness to both of them, the club was going nowhere when they left, but now the situation is different. No other club will offer Mo a greater perspective of success. It can only be about money.

So he didn’t destroy his relationship then.
I think we were dissapointed, but remember he was sold in the January window when we expected him to stay till the end of season.

Destroy and rebuild. You know how your kid does with his lego.

He is 33 now!! Lego is in the attic!

I would say it’s a bit different. Both Torres and Sterling I’m pretty sure said they wanted to leave for trophies. A kick in the guts to fans saying that we will never win anything and they’d rather jump on the moving train than help the club get there.

Torres less so because of the fact that everyone at LFC knew his body was a dud and CFC went and paid over the odds. We knew he’d fail so it made it easier.

Depending on how he leaves, Mo will lose some respect but nothing like the above two.

What pissed me off about Gini was not him wanting to leave but that the reason he wanted to leave seemed to change with the wind. We all thought he desperately wanted to go to Barca for a better life for his family or whatever which I can understand then at the last minute chooses Paris? Nah fuck off.

I won’t hold anything against Salah when he leaves provided his stays genuine and doesn’t flip flop on the reasoning.

Probably because he wasn’t much of a success at chavski.

If Salah goes to sandcastle or cheaty then he can’t expect, nor will he receive, a warm welcome from the fans anymore.

The Michael Owen comparison is interesting as Mo talks a lot about individual awards however unlike Michael Owen he has never won a Ballon D’or and he never will if he leaves Liverpool.
