Talk of him leaving and replacing him is frankly boring. Iād rather discuss the player we have and enjoy him.
Itās crazy the level heās jumped this season, some of his crossing and passing has just come out of nowhere. Heās always been technically very good, i.e. Close control, but he looks on another level to most players and has exploded into this god like level player who can do everything.
That pass with the outside of his foot first time last night was a thing from the gods.
I disagree. Pretty sure last yearās Mane had Covid. I feel he is a bigger threat on the right too, than he is on the left.
I appreciate how you feel but I just canāt agree. Manes best season was a goal contribution that equalled Salahs worst for us. Mane is a world class forward, one of our best success stories with our signings. But even he couldnāt replace Salahs goal contributions. And he was better at Southampton than Raphina has been at Leeds too.
Yet again Iām not saying we wonāt move on from losing Salah my point has always been itāll be a restructuring of the side not just one in one out.
Wellā¦ duh?
I donāt think anyone actually meaningfully believes otherwise.
Some seem to think the rest of the squad will pick up the burden of Salah leaving and the squad will still be just as successful with someone like Raphina replacing Salah and everything else being the same. Iāve got a lot of heat on here along with couple of others because we think itāll be a much bigger issue than that and take a restructuring of the side to overcome the challenge.
He wouldnāt need to, its a team game. Although, itās also worth remembering that Salah takes our penalties - 15 scored so far, 7 of them last season, so when Mane gets brought down in the area or denied by a defenders arm, then its going to be Salah who has the opportunity to benefit from that (statistically speaking).
Itās a team game, and a large proportion of the goals the team score are due to the work of Salah.
Of you take this team, as is, take out Salah, put in a good or even great but still inferior player in his place, then this team scores less than it currently does.
Things would have to be changed to cope. Either we get more defensive so scoring less doesnāt hurt us or other components of the team are changed at the same time so we still score as many as a team.
Both of which will require some bedding in time harming our chances of winning major honours during the season that happens in. That doesnāt mean we canāt win stuff that season and certainly doesnāt stop us being successful in the future like some keep taking the piss saying Iām saying. We might even be improved in the long term over how we are now.
But it could be awful timing, as that transition year of 433 relying on Salahs phenomenal goal contributions to something new might well be Klopps last or second to last year with us. No matter how spot on we get the Klopp replacement there will still be a transition year or two after that change.
We are witnessing pure greatness that will feature in record books for years to come!
Salah is 29 and is in the peak of his career. If Iām the manager, I will be all for giving a new contract, because Salah will have another 2 years in the peak before starting to decline. And those 2-3 years, I would look at replacing Salah either from within (Harvey Elliot) or buy someone in the upcoming summer transfer window with the aim of slowly integrating into the team and replacing Salah when we move him on.
dont know who this guy isā¦
Whoever he is I hope he is right.
Liverpool has received the approval from Egypt National team, Mo Salah will play against Chelsea, then travel to play AFCON

Great news, have Senegal said anything about their players? Donāt mind them saying no as then Chelsea have to play kepa in net
He isnāt in the traditional sense but that position of old doesnāt really exist in todayās game. Otherwise an interesting image /stat.
Interesting how many top strikers seem to work in what I would call the inside left position.
