As Hope says there is nothing new in what he has said, I’m sure it’s the same stuff he said a few months back.
Thought they are already on a very advanced stage of negotiation so that Mo (or his agent) don’t have to make any comments in the media to put pressure on the club.
Doesn’t look good imo.
You mean journalists? Whose job it is to find out these pieces of information and report it.
I fully accept what James Pearce reports as being close to the truth he’s been told, he’s a good journalist.
The irony of bitchy little posts like yours is all you want is to have snide digs at me when the reality is there are 2 sides to negotiations and both sides will be spinning their message to favour their side. Salah/Abbas on one side, journalists like Pearce being fed info from Edwards on the other. Both will be speaking from a position of truth, but with a slight slant to their agenda.
The fact is if Salah’s demands were similar to Van Dijk’s, or Alissons he would have signed a new contract by now. So it’s not “all on the club”, it’s on both sides to find the agreement.
It’s lost on you though isn’t it, New Year, same old baits.
Looks like we may be getting Mo back a bit earlier at this rate. Egypt are 1:0 down against Nigeria. They don’t look too good either and the crowd noise is actually worse than my tinnitus.
This coming from someone using stats all the time in regards to Mo
I’d say it’s business as usual, but that we as fans (also the people at the club!) are not experienced enough. Salah goes away, probably gets asked a ton of questions, just repeats the same thing from his side. We have also our side.
We haven’t seen much so successful Liverpool sides and what does the process of going from a top Liverpool side to a new top Liverpool side look like.
There might be a few moves that are not popular, or taking time. I think it’s just what happens when a side comes to a point when it’s decision time. Nobody can’t get anything they want, not all can get everything we can offer, etc.
Really, we should know more by next summer. For now still, I’m pretty calm. But curious about all of our moves, this isn’t only named Mo Salah.
What you mean is no other statistical categories that you have looked at. The reason Mane got additional love from some quarters is because of the things he does that aren’t picked up in the opta stats (but likely are by the sort of stats Edwards and crew use), but play a big role in helping you to get on top in games and win them.
Underlying stats can be pretty pointless at times. Stuff like touches in opposition box is great but goals and assists are what actually matters. They get the points on the tables not the Underlying stuff which can only ever give an idea.
You mean like Salah having better pressing leading to turn over stats etc?
This is what I was referring to, obviously I am stupid so can’t understand it… But it looks like Mane is a bit of a decent player…
This is the sort of reasoning why United fans think Bobby is a shit player.
You’re clutching at straws there. That was a response to a question. Look back at everything I’ve written about Salah in this forum. He’s a bona fide legend and will possibly displace Stevie and Suarez this year as the best player I’ve seen play for the club
To be honest, I wasn’t even reading your posts.
You genuinely are not really that important.
Edit
I read, and re read the post directed at me.
I stopped reading your posts after our last encounter.
Why did you do that? How do you really think that advances the conversation?
My point is that those who rated Mane highest during that period did so largely because of aspects of his performance that was not captured in the typical attacking statistics. In a general sense, it was the sense of how hard and entire side of a pitch had to work to try to keep him in check. The sense that no matter what the situation Mane was going to ask for the ball and push them to breaking point to try to stop him. It doesn’t always have an immediate impact, but it was, in the opinion of many, a huge factor in our tendency to beat teams into submission. I have no idea how you capture that in statistics, but Im sure Edwards and co do, because it was surely a big part of what put him on our radar. But no single stat were Mo does better that him is going to argue against it.
Thought he signed a new contract with all these notifications…
instead I’m going to make some popcorn and watch ARD turn this into the last stand at the Alamo
So nothing new, the club are trying to get him to sign a new contract but nothing agreed yet
Folks, please keep it civil here. No need to take swipes at each other, thank you.
I think these comments were made back in November in an interview he gave.
