So all of a sudden people are piling on Salah based on their own assumptions, guesswork and mind-reading ability? One of the best players we’ve ever seen at Anfield, who’s always given his all on the pitch, and appeared a humble family man off it.
Yes, his agent is a snake, and probably trying to manipulate him behind the scenes. Whispering in his ear constantly about how brilliant, how undervalued, how unappreciated he is. Anyone’s ego can be susceptible to this, not least the best player on the world.
I’m not saying that Salah doesn’t have agency or responsibility, just that he’s never given us reason to doubt him before. And that we’ve no idea what’s going on behind the scenes

Yes, he hasn’t played as well since AFCON but I haven’t seen any lack of effort. If anything he’s trying a bit too hard to recapture his form and things just haven’t clicked again

That is the perverse incentive. Agents can theoretically get higher salary for their player by making the situation at the current so untenable that they are forced to sell, making the player a distressed asset who goes cheaply, then allowing more of the overall package to be put towards salary.
Call it the Luis Suarez approach.

I’m not having a go at Salah, it’s his snake of an agent I’ve got a massive problem with. He’s the one who’s disrespected Klopp and appears to be classless and unprofessional.

Not easily replaced, but replaceable.
City aren’t exactly struggling without Aguero and United improved after selling Nistelrooy.
Salah is a world class player and I hope he signs but if not Klopp and co know what they’re doing. There are always players ready to take that next step up as Luis Diaz is demonstrating.
