His choices are pretty limited then, if he wants to leave. Only a few clubs will be able to meet his demands and I doubt he would go to City.
Steve McManaman on Mo Salah:
āWe all want him to stay. Every Liverpool fan wants him to. But there has to be a point where Liverpool say āWe can pay this amount and that is our maximumā. I donāt think Liverpool are going to change their structure, I really donāt.ā
I think they would appreciate Mo more than Messi.
Utd it is then !
Surely if fans canāt support Messi then they wont support anyone. PSG is a cesspit.
Love Mo. If he stays - fantastic. If he goes - thanks for the memories.
Personally not as bothered about this as most. If Mo goes itll be because 300k a week wasnt enough for him which is ultimately greed. Fair fucks to him for wanting more because he knows some clubs will pay - heāll have to go to one of those clubs to get it - but arguing over 300k vs 400k, or qhatever the figures are, is like arguing over too much icing on your cake. Also if he does go itll be for Coutinho level money and the last time Klopp had that much money we got Alisson and Fabinho. We did perfectly well without him during the AFCON and the money that comes in can be used to provide more depth up top. Not the end of the world. Keegan left, McManaman left, Owen left, Torres left, Suarez left, Coutinho left, and the clubs still here doing just fine - plus we are in a better position now than we were when any of those others left.
I hope he stays because i love him, but if he fucks off for more money weāll be fine with Klopp in charge, bobby, sadio, diaz, diogo, div, and whoever gets brought in leading the line.
I was with you until Div
Oi, Origi is a fucking legend.
The only departure Liverpool fans should really be worried about is Klopp.
Not Buvac, not Coutinho, not Michael Edwards, not Salah, not Van Dijk. Klopp is the one that has the potential to destabilise the club. Nobody else.
Iād be pretty gutted when VVD leaves to be honest.
But get your point
Do you honestly believe that Klopp will just walk out with no succession plan in place?
JĆ¼rgen will leave one day; itās inevitable. But heās not going to go until everything is set up for the next manager.
I dont think its a succession plan or lack of one thats the concern but Kloppās unique attributes and how he ties much of our structure together.
He will have a plan in place but for me Salah is replaced much more easily than VVD.
I think we need to be more worried about the succession plan for who replaces Klopp rather than who replaces any player though.
If you could sell Salah, Ox, Minamino and our fringe players for around the same price it would be to sign Nkunku, Bellingham, Raphinha and Carvalho would you do it?
Yes I know its very Football Manageresque but it would be interesting to see how valued Mo is if we could do what we did when we sold Coutinho and brought in players who revolutionised our team.
That is an awful lot of turnover for what is already an excellent team.
I really hope a compromise can be found and Mo extends his contract.
If a compromise canāt be found in the next couple of months I feel we should probably sell him this summer for a Coutinho style fee (if one is on offer) rather than allow him to leave for nothing next year.
Whilst Klopp is still at the club I would trust them to reinvest the funds wisely similar to how we did it when buying Ali and VVD.
This would hopefully help future proof us for when Klopp is probably no longer with us.

I say this with a confidence that many will disagree with, but there will not be such an offer on the table should we decide to consider offers this summer. Price is about a lot more than just quality of the player, and the circumstances that caused Phil to generate such a fee just will not be there with Mo.
There is no single club desperate to land him that we can hold over a barrel. There will be at least 1, possibly 3 other elite goal scorers on the market this summer (Haaland, Mbappe, Lewi) all of whom will be available for reasonable up front costs - Mbappe is a free agent, Haaland has an explicit clause way under his market value, and Lewi is 34 going going into his final year of the contract. When you couple that with us having a known contract issue with Mo, there are just too many things happening to push down the cost of his fee. When everything shakes out, it makes the prospect of keeping him and letting him leave on a free the following summer more likely than when compared against receiving a monster fee for him to fund a retooling.
