Mohamed SALAH: 2021/22

Just because he is Mo Salah doesn’t mean he will not massively decline under any other manager but Klopp just like everyone else who left.

If he does go next season pretty hard to see us selling him to an EPL club.
All the smoke in this is down to his agent and Mo ought to turf him.
Never begrudge a player making what he can out of a fairly limited time at the top, though He has probably done quite nicely, his time here has done him no harm, but who is to say he may not crash and burn at another club like a few have.
Don’t think Mo is a fool,so he should look at the whole thing from his own point of view and tell his agent to do one!

I wouldn’t sadly, they are like best chums. If you want I can send you the Athletic article which describes how Abbas stole Salah from another agency (during negociations) how they become best friends etc.

Hence why despite me loving Salah to bits I don’t agree with this line he is completely absolved from any of his agents doing.

He would have to be a complete cunt to do that, and I don’t think he is. His agent’s unprofessionalism plays into our hands I think. He will have been embarassed about that. I’d like to think he’s apologized on his behalf to Klopp.

The Man City fans wouldn’t accept Salah as they all think hes a diving cheat!

He is going to Brighton. Gave his shirt to a fan last night. :man_shrugging:

Mo has the drive in him to be the best.

That means being the top scorer.

That means winnings leagues and cups.

That means being the best player in the world.

So, I reckon the money thing for him is probably just about being top in that list as well

I would say the threat of other PL is just that a threat.

Can I point out that the idea that LFC won’t tolerate comments on social media about negotiations means you’re smoking something but I’m not sure what? Thanks.

Is there a law saying we can’t let it be known that anyone with a certain agent we won’t consider signing? Also put in their contract that they aren’t allowed to join that agent during their time with us? It may be against some freedom of choice thing which is why im asking.

If not then perhaps after letting it be known that anyone with Abbas as an agent won’t ever be welcome here may stop people like Abbas acting like an ass where we are concerned. Fair enough we’d lose out on a few players but it may make the agents think twice. I know it’s too late with Mo and his agent but it may deter others and even the possibility of agents losing players that may one day want to play for us will keep those agents in line. I can think of a few agents i’d have on that list already.

Abbass isnt actually an agent. He is a close friend of Mo’s who handles his contract because he is a lawyer.

I think the club do avoid certain agents where they can, but that has little impact the number of players hiring them.

So basically agents have all the power here. They could say anything they want about the club, suggest to players they get a bad back or even down tools and there is nothing we could do about it? If Abbass isnt an agent then i suppose there isn’t anything we can do about him but agent like Raiola i would hope we could do something about.

As fo Mo, hope he stays but preparing for the worst. If he goes we’ll survive but he will be hard to replace. Do i blame Mo for wanting to be one of the top paid players - No, do i blame FSG for trying to keep their wage structure - No, do i blame Abbass for trying to get him the best deal - No (but the way he went about it was terrible).

I don’t think FSG can change the wage structure really so it’s down to Mo whether money is his main motivation (or being top paid). I’m sure he understands FSGs position here and has done from the start so it would seem to me he wants to go. I’ll always think of him as a great player for us and welcome him back (as long as its not as a Manc player) but any more similar tweets from his agent will eat away at how well loved he is here. I hope he’s told Abbass to lay off his tweets.

How many goals did Mo score so far in this season (all competitions) and how many of them came from the penalty spot?

The likelihood though is that, providing he’s not going to a club that’s a massive step back (sandcastle), he will be a massive success. Plenty of players have left our club. Not many have been better after leaving. Though also not many of them were truly world class and in the top of their form.

Suarez was. He was just as good for Barca. Torres left after 6 months of appalling form, and he carried that form at Chelsea. Plenty of other examples of good players that we let go at the right time. But Salah won’t be one of them.

End of the day his celebration didn’t say to me a guy who wants out.

Problem is if Salah wants to stay that outburst won’t have helped. The day Coutinho starting getting his family to put out stuff in the Spanish press about how Klopp wasn’t that great a coach was the day he burnt those bridges.

I actually wouldn’t be too bothered if Salah had another year and we just let it wind down but the guys in his prime.

I’m not too bothered with how the club looks to be handling it. Yes you can’t replace him but as I said before we are a team built around a system. Luis Diaz hasn’t by accident slotted in. And Salah doesn’t magically slot in elsewhere.

It’s a wait and see and be patient, what annoyed me was it was all evident to produce headlines and an impact on the team. It failed for now.

Journalist randomly drops question, Klopp repeats position (nothing much different from previous statements if we are honest).

Abbas goes to Twitter, Fabrizio Romano gets a scoop. Abbas then stirs shit about other PL teams as that’s one way to get the fans annoyed.

The reality is that at a certain point for a certain status of footballer (Mo is absolutely in that tier), money is not about the money per se but a metric in a dick measuring contest.

I think there is no guarantee that Mo will still be as good in 2023-4 as he is now or has been previously for us. He has been lucky with injuries and really should have scored more than he has given how well setup we are for him. Hopefully he stays but if he goes then its not beyond the realm of possibility that Mo will, like many before him, struggle to regain the highs and become another lesson of don’t leave Liverpool thinking the grass is greener elsewhere.

So at this stage I’m staying sanguine and hoping he can help us to more silverware this season. Win another CL and/or PL and I’ll be happy regardless of what follows.

With how fit and dedicated he is, I would not be surprised to see him continue at his current level well into his 30s. If it was my money though I wouldn’t stake it on that being the case.

If MO goes to another club he will probably be man marked out of every game by the opposition…
Unless of course, the club he goes to has a Sadio, a Bobby, a Robbo and a few others that would concern and occupy the defending team… only then will MO be allowed the freedom to play the way he can…

Not so sure Mo would.

Those dickheads who follow PSG were booing Messi today. Presumably they think it was his fault they got knocked out of the CL.
