It sounds like someone who’s nearing the end of his career and knows it…
Rumoured 3 year deal, same salary and signing on fee. No idea how true.
Would be interesting to see if it’s until 2027 or 2028 (or when he’s turning 35 or 36). And if there would be a clause involved. If he does stay and sign for more than 2 years, then surely he also has his eyes on beating Rushie’s record.
What can you give a guy that has enough money to last ten lifetimes… What can you give same guy that money can’t buy…
For one, an adoring fanbase where he is appreciated for ongoing and past deeds…
For two, a place in a side that creates lots and lots of goalscoring opportunities every week…
For three, a relative stress free, media frenzy free homelife…
For four, etc…
If I was Hughes/Edwards, these are the tactics I would be applying to MO
If it’s true it’s possibly one reason he stayed back in Liverpool this week.
True but I hope he ends it off at home i.e LFC
I think he and van Dijk are the easier contracts, if I’m being honest. Neither have concrete links to go anywhere else, and in his case, he doesn’t seem particularly keen on going to Saudi Arabia despite what people constantly think of, especially when some of them are jerking off to the idea of selling him for £100m or something like that.
At their age, I think they (and their advisers) know that a pay increase is unlikely, and that it’s more favourable to secure a longer contract instead.
On the other hand, with Alexander-Arnold, there’s one team out there with a gaping hole at right-back, that doesn’t play in our league, and is competitive at the highest levels. It’s easier for him to play off that interest. Even if he has no intention to go there, it’s simply not in his interests to declare that, no matter what fans might prefer. It’s in Real Madrid’s interests to make a play for him and to unsettle him too.
If we want to extend other contracts though, getting all three of them sorted last is probably the wisest thing.
So in other words, none of the current developments are surprising.
Got a sauce for this???
:0)
Nah, so mild.
These are better.
Weakling. Try Naga or even Carolina Reaper.
Whatever happens with this guy, I’m sure both he and the club know what they’re doing and have their reasons for why the contract situation is getting dragged out.
However, I don’t think about any of this future stuff. I am just pinching myself that I get to be an LFC fan while this guy, a bona fide club Legend is playing his best football for us. He’s easily up there amongst the very greatest to have played for this wonderful club, and I hope we can all just be grateful and appreciate just how lucky we are that we had this guy throughout his entire prime years.
Love you Mo.
‘Seeing these guys gives me great memories’ | Salah, Alisson & Robertson | Reds Roundtable
A very good interview among the secondary leaders group. With leadership up and down the pitch , it’s not a surprise to see us doing well.
Ah remember the days of Rafa and his team of captains? Even Robbie Keane came as a ‘captain’. Leaders everywhere!
All three are great personalities, with Alisson having the most likeable face though it’s strange to see him without his beard. Sort of like Samson sans hair.
Agree. I’m more partial to Robbo though.
He can take ribbing as well as dish it out.
Also , he’s the proper guy to get under the skin of the opposition. The rest of our lot are too nice.
The biggest worry is that the only one of them under 30 is Alexander-Arnold.
These interviews have been brilliant

This is Mo saying the thing that defines the best players is the ability to always stay in the game and ready to do something important even when you’re not having a good game. He is then open about how he has had spells recently like that where he hasnt been playing well and…then Robbo cuts him off to say “many of them” and Mo laughs it off
I just really like how grounded they all keep each other with the piss taking.
