Mohamed SALAH: 2024/25

He was great against Madrid up until he missed the pen then his head went a bit

Iā€™m not sure I wasnā€™t that impressed throughout.

Maybe it was my annoyance about the contract stuff that made me look at him over critically.

Didnā€™t see that. Mo clearly hates him though. One of the calmest players in world football but gets into a rage with the little rat every time we play them

You need to do interviews on his behalf.

Actually, never mind.

Starting to run out of patience with this Hughes chap, weā€™re in December ffs. Stop hiding under your bedsheets and get to fucking work.

Get the impression that between the club and Salah (agent), Salahā€™s blinked first (if the story is true).

I do think the club is concerned about a decline in Salahā€™s performance long-term, but it looks like Salahā€™s given them a get out jail free card. Nothing to lose, and this time next year, both club and player can re-evaluate.

@Klopptimist I take back what I said.

I had the impression that the length of contract was the issue because of his (and Van Dijkā€™s age). Heā€™s literally begging them to hand him a new contract if heā€™s, even at his age, willing to accept a ONE year deal while carrying Liverpoolā€™s attack this season.

The Athletic piece says that the club has yet to reveal its proposed terms and length of contract, which makes little to no sense since there have been ongoing talks with Abbas for a while.

I have the distinct impression that despite claiming to have spoken to ā€œmultiple sources with knowledge of the current situationā€, Hughes has no real insight into whatā€™s going on.

If true though and Salah is willing to accept a one-year deal, I canā€™t imagine that the club will let him go, unless his wage demands for this extra year are astronomical.

I hope there are optional add-ons that can be triggered by the club too depending on performance etc.

Whatever is driving the likes of Hughes in relation to Mo and Virg, if they will accept one year deals, he needs to get his finger out, because it is starting to look silly.

Just remember - everything that is in the press about these contracts is there for a reason to help someone gain leverage in public opinion.

Meaning - take these reports for what they are worth - in past days that would have been excellent kindling to start a fire to stay warm this winter. Today, Iā€™d put it right at $0.00000000001
