We cannot possibly match the money the Saudis will be offering. But I am sure we will be offering good terms to Mo. Financially it will be a stretch for us, but we won’t over-extend, and rightly so.

Mo will have a decision to make. Stay at Liverpool, fight for the biggest prizes. Or move on. The latter would be a real shame.

I’d like to see him sign a two year deal, with a clause to go for a modest transfer fee half way through. He can still fill his boots financially, but he will bang in more goals for us for another season beyond this one. Let’s see…

It would be surprising if the Saudis are the only ones interested in him. He’s the best player in the PL, at least in his position.

And so the words start creeping in, same as it was with Alexander-Arnold.

I wonder how long it’ll be before people convince themselves that he’s always had his heart set on a big paycheque in Saudi, despite every single public uttering being to the contrary.

He literally said he wanted to stay many, many times, as did Van Dijk. Trent hasn’t mentioned anything like that throughout his contract “saga”.

I don’t doubt he wants to stay, as does Virgil. Put only if we pay them what they think they are worth. We can’t write him a blank cheque.

Only 3 players now have scored 20 premier league goals in a season more often than Mo and all of those played more seasons than he has had at Liverpool

Even ignoring the Premier league distinction, he’s done it now more often than Rushie did for us as well (5 vs 4).

I agree with this. If he does move, lots of people will want him. Slot said as much, and also added that he hopes Mo stays, and he has the wisdom to make the best decision.

I was throwing the Saudis out there since they are vocal again in wanting Salah.

He’s now only 4 goals away from Gordon Hodgson who scored 241 goals in 377 games. Salah has scored 237 in 383 games. That’s just an insane scoring rate in the modern game, when you consider that Hodgson was a contemporary of Dixie Dean and benefit from the goal boom following the easing of the offside rule.
