Mohamed SALAH: 2024/25

I mean the club posted it on the official site and everything, but do not underestimate @Nikola’s powers…

@Nikola is like a human embodiment of the monkey’s paw.

Excellent news.

Now I hope; he starts playing again, he stops being unsubbable, it gives the team a lift.

Good timing as well to give us some confidence to close this title out.

I just listed to Slot’s press conference. When asked about if he influenced Mo’s signing he said that everyone played their part including the FSG guys, i.e. money (and laughs).

I’m assuming that Mo’s tax bill won’t be getting any lighter!

He could have joined any club in the world on a free. Or become a billionaire in Saudi.

That’s loyalty to Liverpool, and to his family who seem settled in the city. Also an indication that he feels he can win everything with our evolving squad under Slot :ok_hand:

We love you Mo!:smiling_face_with_tear::heart:

Not every club in the world can pay him or is willing to have him. And as for Saudi, he can still get there in the future.

There is a degree of loyalty, but much more than that, it makes sense for him to stay. Sporting wise, financial wise, family/life wise.

Like he said, if we were looking like not competing nor winning things, he wouldn’t have signed.

I still think this has ben done weeks possibly months.

It’s questionable how many serious offers he had on table from other top European clubs. I think Liverpool had confidence that the market for him wasn’t big and that actually staying at here (also when we showed under Slot that we can continue competing), is the best option for now. Very possible that it’s similar for Virgil.

Oh, definitely. Slot hinted as much.

I suspect that his family is a big factor in him wanting to stay.

Salah for me never seemed the type who wanted to move to SA. Even if he was getting a million a week type of wages.

The links to Saudi were just terribly lazy journalism. Mo is muslim so he must definitely want to play in Saudi.

Bascombe is reporting that if all clauses and bonuses are met, Salah will be earning 480,000 pounds per week, which is insane.

I am happy that he stays on, but I am very apprehensive about him getting anything more than a token raise, let alone a substantial one. It will have an adverse effect on all current and future contract negotiations as well.

I sure as hell hope that Hughes knows what he’s doing.

That must mean that everyone who’s a cunt must want to play in Manchester.

Oh wait…

I think that might be a little too simplistic.

Saudi would have definitely wanted him, as that would have been a bigger coupe than when they signed Ronaldo. What wasn’t factored in, was how much Mo rated huge earning opportunities plus living in a Muslim country over competing in the top league and against the top players in Champions League each year. I imagine he probably gave any saudi offers serious consideration, but altimately still has the hunger to prove himself against the best players in Europe.

I think that is what I’ve previously read he is earning now (or a little bit more). The likelyhood is that if he is hitting all his bonuses the team should be doing very well.
