Yeah so that doesnât really count towards the stats. Iâm not saying that Salah will or wonât be able to sustain his performance levels, but we still need to be concerned nonetheless.
but we still need to be concerned nonetheless.
Concerned that Salahâs productivity wains in the next 2-3 years?
Iâm pretty relaxed about this - I canât see him falling off a cliff, heâs not some ego-maniac that puts himself before everything/one else and is willing to not do the hard graft (like Ronaldo). The intensity/effort Mo puts in means he will likely continue to be a key player for the club even if he slows in terms of pace. Not sure I see Mo still here come the start of 2026/27, when he will be 34.
Ronnie left United at 37 years old to go bang goals in in Saudi.
Mo Salah didnât make to the top 30 of the Ballon dâOr voting but Ruben Dias and Declan Rice did.
Why do I feel that if he were European or Latin American, he wouldnât be consistently snubbed.
The comparator is all the forwards in the list with less goals and assists than Mo and no trophies
Donât think we have to compare him to Ronaldo. Salah is a machine, but theyâre also different. Salah would probably prefer staying more on the right side, while Ronaldo in the last years became more of a central striker where teams have to adapt defensively how they defend with other 9 outfield players. I totally understand if Mo is in absolutely no rush to go to Saudi yet and wants a few more years of top European level. Thatâs not surprising to me.
