Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

You’re being too kind.

Carragher is being a fucking douchebag right now.

Mind your goddamn manners and respect your betters.

It makes sense as putting himself in the shop window for Afcon

If people were already trying to get him out of the club and that made Salah want to leave, he doesnt need to do this to get people’s attention. This surely only advances his situation in a case where we dont want to sell, and can anyone believe that we would shoot down the opportunity the get 400k a week of the books that was going to a sub?

There’s a few postulates in that which aren’t clear. Logically there was no need for him to do it, but it’s a situation that is emotionally fraught. It’s also conceivable IF he is being pushed and has accelerated that himself, preserving some interest outside the club to use as leverage however he sees fit, is equally plausible. There is more than one line of reasoning that becomes from an event. In the least, he is clearly available and has communicated that to the market. If he wants to carry on in the game, he needed to do that.

Not that it’s really relevant (for recent events at Liverpool) over such a large span and I guess in many of the games he’s not started, we were against weaker opposition and expected to win, but there you go, just for info.

Seems like most of the players and
ex- players are on Mo side.

I suspect they simply have more background knowledge. I don’t know if it’s about taking sides; I think it’s more about understanding the situation and his feelings. Most of them are close friends, (as we’ve seen with Allison yesterday) and whether his actions were right or wrong is irrelevant. Sometimes friends make mistakes, but you don’t abandon them because of it.

I try to filter out the noise and not pick a side in this. I might sound too cynical given that we’re talking about a title wining coach and a true playing legend but ultimately I want what is best for the club - if that means moving on one of them or both or none, I will support the decision that is made with club’s best interests at heart.

I think the best way forward is for Salah and Slot/club hierarchy to kiss and make up in public, release him to AFCON and then use January to sell him and buy a winger and a centre back to resolve the two currently most pressing issues in the squad. Mo to be given hero’s farewell, Slot (or his successor) to get players who will fit the team better and try to save whatever can be saved from this dismal season.

I don’t think it’s a ‘sides’ thing.

Carragher retorting about Mo “throwing the right back under the bus” is the most cuntish and unfounded thing that anyone has said about this sorry episode. Mo’s role always has been to be the top goal threat. He’s largely excelled at his job.

Carra has started something here. I hope he can handle the backlash. It’s going to be loud.
So unnecessary.

Carra shouldn’t have spoke about Egypt. Its got nothing to do with where Salah is at with Liverpool.

I thought Carra’s point he was trying to make about Egypt was that doesn’t matter how good you are as an individual you alone can not take a team to a trophy, it’s a team game?! Anyway I could be wrong, but Carra gets paid for sensationalist takes and views though so it’s no suprise it came across the way it did.

Not, and never will be a lover of Carragher or what comes out of his ‘gobby’ mouth by any means, but I thought he referenced the Egypt National team in the same sentence he mentioned Messi, Mbappe, Ronaldo… as simply another shot at MO. In short, if MO was as good as his own ego thinks he is, Egypt would have won a major honour, just like the countries have done from the other mentioned names…
As normal with Carragher though, why put a 10 word sentence across in a compact manner, when a rambling, all round the houses 150 word sentence, in a love of hearing your own voice style can awkwardly say the same thing…!!!
