Mohamed SALAH: 2025/26

I just hope that we’ll cope without him between now and the end of the season. We are already without Ekitike, and Salah’s upwards form helped us to win three games on the trot in the league. But who will score the goals for us now he’s out too?

Luckily, we have Isak back, so hopefully he can stay fit, and build on his recent goal while forming a partnership with Wirtz. Ngumoha might see a bit more of playing time, we’ll see.

You know sometimes people gotta know when it’s time to step up.

We’ve got Brentford at home on the last day. As long as there is nothing riding on it, I fully expect Salah to be on the pitch at the final whistle, even if he comes on thirty seconds earlier and basically stands still in the middle of the pitch.

Could tell with the way he went off that he thought it may well be his last game. Prefer this than a thumping from Stoke on his last day..

Rio really is the obvious choice. Suppose Frimpong could be further up and you use Jones or Gomez at right back.

It still doesn’t make any sense, so is he in fact retiring from football?

He can’t go to PSG or Bayern for obvious reasons. And why would the club honour a handshake and say, sure leave us for free and go enjoy Real or Barcelona if that’s what you’re thinking.

He’s not going to US right due to concerns over there with national identification and a lunatic leadership issue.

So that realistically leaves either a Serie A team or Saudi league. If he goes to Saudi, then that is pretty much football retirement. Be honest with yourself, yes people do watch that league, but nobody who regularly watches premier league/ECL will be tuning in checking up on him. When Bobby Firmino and Sadio Mane left, I didn’t think oh I must see how their career is continuing, I just felt it’s done, thanks for all the great days and that ended right there. It will be the same for Salah, unless you’re a freak and want to watch him whatever the weather.

If it’s a 50/50 choice with any of the 4 possible serie A teams, or stay with us for that final year and give it another go, then what are you waiting for? Reckon you could still be in Italy a year from now anyway.

Because the club’s interest in him leaving is to take him off our wage bill. Given his notable decline i dont think the club are worried too much where he actually goes to. That will probably free up enough cash to pay the wages of 2 or 3 first teamers. Or contribute to the fees we are paying.

Salah has always been slightly iffy when you consider the chances that he’s had with the ones that he’s actually converted.

No slight on him. But he got over that earlier in his career by his pace. That pace has deserted him somewhat

“Slightly iffy”? WTAF! How can you say that of a player who is our third highest all-time goal scorer?

This is true, and as Barca cannot even afford Rashford then his option remains playing in front of Trent at Real then.

Or he returns to Italy

Or he goes to a retirement residents home in Saudi Arabia.

PS - just thought of something else, could he go to 3rd place red bulls because he loves Klopp that much and will probably see him around the training ground? - And Diomande comes the other way

You can’t say it. Makes zero sense

Never in doubt.

This is great news! I was thinking/dreading his last appearance was gonna be in the club tracksuit after full time at Brentford clapping to the fans.

My 2nd team just got done right at the death now against Macclesfield, so I’m gutted.

That cheered me up though :backhand_index_pointing_up:

Egyptian manager probably wanted him rested until the World Cup.

Mohamed Salah felt that his relationship with Liverpool head coach Arne Slot had worsened, which led him to ask the club to cancel his £400k-per-week contract. This was reported by reliable Liverpool journalist Paul Joyce from The Times

Saw this on social media.

If that is truthfully from Salah’s viewpoint? Then all credit to the club for not knee-jerking, because he could’ve easily been a mutual contract cancel back in December after the thrown under bus comments.

They gave him time respectfully to see if relationship would repair somehow. And now obviously he made decision to leave, it works out better for both parties and hopefully he features against Brentford and he goes out like a pro on the pitch with Anfield at full voice.

You only tear up £400 grand a week if another team confirms they are all in for you. Question is now then which average dull Saudi team will it be?

It looks a bit shady. Wait for something more reliable.

That’s interesting because my reaction was “why is this being reported as new now? Dont we all already know this?”
