Precisely. Based on reported fees they are currently up about 50m. It’s never as straight forward as that, but if you factor in the different way sales vs purchases are treated for accounting purposes, that is a lot of leeway to spend that has been added
So? Are they the only 2 DMs around? Be honest, £111m was way overpriced for Caicedo and £55m is definitely overpriced for a prospect even one with a ceiling as high as Lavia. Lavia especially wouldn’t likely be a first team starter this season, at least not the first half.
If we get either or both then great, it’s not my money but the fact we know we have that much means we can get a top range DM from someone (maybe even from Madrid at that price). We’re not even sure if we’ve lost out on both yet and everyone is going nuts over it.

problem now for us is that everyone knows we have up to £110m to spend .
He can’t sign for them unless we pull out of our agreement and they don’t match our offer. Eventually it will go one way or the other.

Yup. That’s what I have been saying. Glad Chelsea are signing Caiceido. Don’t want him yesterday and even more today for 111 million. We are going after obvious players like United do.
