Well Brighton fans would seem to have a better understanding of the person, basically the cause besides Chelsea they say is that he replaced his agents in January ( with the “Madrid lot” don’t know what that’s about) …
But they say he’s easily led and that Mac and co were good for him, and they feel he would get that support from our players more than the souless pit that is Stamford bridge.
One also suggest if he does come to us he sacks his agents once more and try and get one more focused on him as a person kind of thing
Kopstar previously tried to explain the legal complexity over tapping up. As I remember it he claimed that the line is not drawn at simply communicating with a player to gauge their interest (by the letter it might be but is utterly unenforceable). Instead the line is drawn at the point that the player then does something to force the move that would be argued is a violation of their contract.
I think there is a long way to go before this outcome occurs but if the move to us breaks down because of the player’s steadfast refusal to sign all while chelsea still have not had a bid accepted then I’d think there would likely be some pretty strong arguments for sanctioning chelsea.
End of the day we can still go and explore other deals with that bid remaining in place if someone more agreeable becomes available we buy them and withdraw our offer.
Brighton lose out on extra cash, it’s probably in their interest to give Chelsea an ultimatum.
Let’s face it Chelsea’s bid is only going be slightly higher than ours but if we signed a decent DM elsewhere then Chelsea could easily just go 91m which is 1m higher than Bayern supposedly bid.
The rent boys thing is and always has been a homophobic slur that was a parody of the “Chelsea Aggro” chant of their hooligan element.
Now, I’m all for upsetting racist thugs but the fact that people seem to have forgotten this just leaves it as hate speech. Time for that one to be put to bed. “Racist cunts” is frankly a bit more on the nose.
Yeah you were using that line to paint LFC as the problem not Caicedo, pal. I just disagreed mate. Nothing strawmanning about it me ole mucker. Just a very reasoned difference of opinion buddy.
David Baddiel and his brother (both Chelsea fans) had a video of antisemitic abuse being aimed at Spurs fans whilst they were sitting right next to them.
I’m pretty sure that there are knobheads at every club but it’s horrible to watch. Anyway, there’s another thread for this topic if needed.
He didnt say it as a pejorative. Once you remove the value judgement from the comment it’s a pretty inarguable point to say him signing for us would represent a pretty abrupt about turn for a player who was assumed for the past 3-4 months by all of football to be signing for chelsea. He is simply pointing out that under those circumstances it is reasonable for the player to take a moment to catch his breath before jumping into the biggest decision of his life.
Just thinking about it - we already have a deal agreed for Caicedo. For Lavia we have personal terms agreed and 2 million away from their asking price. Will be completely ludicrous but somehow i get this feeling the way things are shaping up.
